It's interesting to blend 10 years together in one collage, hitting every day of the week for March 11. The final shot today is our Shoebox Memory from a year ago.

Good Morning from Sault Ste Marie

The pictures from the past are a great reminder of the constancy of the UP.

By Alex "UP-Goldwinger" (Alex) on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 - 07:53 am:

Once again, nobody is smiling in the final photo. It must have been the style of the day.

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 - 08:24 am:

Good Morning, Everyone! I think that not smiling was either the style back then, or you had to hold still, in the same place so long, that nobody could smile? Our family photos from that time period show no smiles, either.

We should have a little taste of spring today and the next couple of days, as our temperatures are supposed to rise into the low 40's for a welcome change. We won't see really warm temps in March, though, like we have in some years recently, according to a local meteorologist.

Good morning! The pictures this morning are wonderful. Thank you.

All's right with the world. I've had my "morning fix." I love looking
at "The Decade on Pasty Cam" and listening to "This Day in
History." Now I have no more excuses...time to get back to writing
those report cards.

boy, I hope they didn't put a basement in the Yooper Igloo

By Cindy Pihlaja Russell (Gone2long) on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 - 11:24 am:

It doesn't look like they even put an "inside" in the igloo.

By Brooke (Lovethekeweenaw) on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 - 12:52 pm:

It's warm enough for me to walk to the post office without my coat! Spring is closer!

By Cheryl Rozman (Cotton) on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 - 01:27 pm:

Our Marquette Mining Journal didn't even have an article in the paper yesterday about the Copper Kings Champions. SHAME ON THEM!!!!! They wrote about NMU & the Redman hockey though. Very seldom do we see any news on the Copper Country sports. And the same company owns the two papers here & up there. Sad!!!

By Snowman (Snowman) on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 - 06:27 pm:

I have a story about my igloo and would like to share it with you.
My home was falling apart, everything seemed to go wrong all at once. The water heater, the plumbing, the well pump, the roof, the heating, the appliances, the septic system, the washer, the dryer, the list is endless. This is what I did to solve all of the problems; Iglooed it.

By Danielle L. Adams (Badkid) on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 - 12:18 am:

humm an igloo...thats one way to go about your problems i guess lol i hear igloos are actually pretty warm inside, though i wouldn't know from experience...never been in one haha.
