Hey all you Yoopers. I hope you are surviving the winter. I'm in Kansas where it is cold and snows on and off, but nothing like you are having. I grew up there and though I love the summers, I know I don't have the stamina for winter anymore.

Anyway I am excited to announce that I just had an article about growing up in Copper Harbor published on the net. You can read it by going to associatedcontent.com

Let me know what you think. And does anyone know of any good Copper Country photos that are in the public domain? I have some more articles that I am going to be publishing in the future and need some good photos.

By kosk in Toronto (Koskintoronto) on Monday, February 25, 2008 - 05:56 pm:

Well Sage. I certainly did enjoy your article. How could you have
stayed away for eighteen whole years? I look forward to reading
your next installment.

By Diane Miller Wallace (Sage) on Monday, February 25, 2008 - 08:03 pm:

Well it was mostly a financial issue. The last time I was home was when my father, Eino Miller, died. After that my mother, Violet, moved to Kansas to be closer to me. So one of the main reason to come back was no longer there.

Then I moved to California and that was a really long trip, so I made do with whale watching in the ocean to make up for my lack of Lake Superior.

Last summer my sister invited me to meet her in Copper Harbor and since I was back in Kansas again, I decided not to put it off any longer.

A, yes. Finances.

Wow! everday i like going on to Whats up and looking at these slideshows. They are so nicely done and all the pictures are so neat! I expecialy like the waterfall ones! i enjoy waterfalling in the summer time so in the winter its like a chunk of the keewnaw at home. Thanks for doing such a great show every morning and making all the icy days with a nice summer sparkle!

Crystal, I am a reenactor also. Never at Fort Wilkens but at a lot of others. Feet get tired in period shoes for sure. Read you profile and found it interesting. We have two cannons in our group similar to the one in your picture.

For all who requested links to the previous Pasty Cameos, you will find them at the bottom of yesterday's Cameo about Underground Illumination. Next month we'll be creating and index of all of these short vignettes.
