HAPPY GROUNDHOG DAY

Today it seems as if you can see clear into forever...

By
Michael Du Long (Mikie) on Saturday, February 2, 2008 - 04:17 am:

Liz I couldn't sleep so got up and low and behold there you were. Congratulations on a well deserved Late Owl. I might as well go back to bed since I wont have a chance of winning anything today.

By Paul Oesterle (Paulwebbtroll) on Saturday, February 2, 2008 - 05:32 am:

Good morning all! Congratulations Liz! I put a rock over the Groundhogs entrance to his burrow so no shadow and only a month and a half more of winter instead of 6 weeks!

By Pennie (Trolldiva) on Saturday, February 2, 2008 - 09:06 am:

Congrats Liz!!

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Saturday, February 2, 2008 - 09:17 am:

Cloudy here in MN this morning, no shadow today. Does that mean Spring will be here tomorrow? Better get the boat ready. Congrats Liz!
Mr. Deb

Good morning!

Way to go, Paul. I knew that some day somebody would fool that animal.

Nice job, Liz! I could never stay up that late. Too bad, Mikie. Maybe next time.

By David Soumis (Davesou) on Saturday, February 2, 2008 - 09:49 am:

Hey Deb, I though of your grandma, and my great grandma, right away myself when I saw that picture :)
maybe its the shoes. The scene was so reminiscent of their house and activities.
I really enjoyed visiting with them. Great people.

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Saturday, February 2, 2008 - 12:18 pm:

Good Afternoon, Everyone! Happy Groundhog's Day. Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow this morning, so six more weeks of winter. :-( That was a cool idea, Mikie. (When I started this, there was still plenty of morning left, but then interruptions brought me to afternoon, LOL.) Congratulations, Liz on your Night Owl award.

Gormfrog: Enjoy your Groundhog Day party! The Ontario
groundhog did not see his shadow so we're supposed to have an
early Spring.

I was just sent a shocking message this afternoon, a copy of the press release by the University. Apparently, a Michigan Tech University freshman student, an experienced skier and member of their ski team club, lost control on Mt Ripley yesterday and crashed into a tree. He was brought down off the hill by the Ski Patrol and taken to Portage Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, I believe on arrival. My heart goes out to the family of this young man, who was just 18 years old. My thoughts and prayers are with them.

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Saturday, February 2, 2008 - 05:11 pm:

That is so sad. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. I've never heard of anybody dying on Mt. Ripley before. I'm sure it's happened, but I believe it's the first I've heard of it.
