It has been awhile since we visited NASA's wonderful website The Gateway to Astronaut Photography of Earth. They have an amazing clickable map which allows you to zoom in on any specific coordinates and pull up photos from various space flights. Of course I had to jump to the Keweenaw Peninsula. Oooh... makes me dizy.

It has been a busy, busy 2 weeks while Mary has been away. We've seen the introduction of "Pasty Cameos" and "This Day in History", as well as the expansion of the What'sUP page to see a full review of this day over the years from the Archives. I've even spoken with Toivo about coming out of retirement and joining the Pasty Central crew again for our Saturday visits, just like old times. But I think this morning, if you zoom real close on the map above, you may see him on a snowmobile somewhere between Gratiot Lake and Copper Harbor. Maybe next week.

See you tomorrow for another Shoebox Memory. And Lord willing we'll see Mary Drew back at this spot on your Internet dial on Monday :o)

Nice Website information Thanks - In the intro you mentioned "This Day in History", I guess I missed the directions on how to access this - can you give me some pointers? By the way I love all of the Pasty Cameos - Keep up the good works!

If you look real hard, you can see me on my white Goldwing. I'm that little white dot on M-26, just east of Eagle Harbor.

When I first saw this photo, I thought our eye in the sky, Neil Harri, traded his Cessna for a surplus Russian Mig fighter jet. I'm glad he didn't, because we would loose the vivid detail of his previous photography.

Loved today's cameo, Charlie...the history and pictures were awesome; music perfect. Thanks so much for your efforts in putting this together so all can enjoy it. Keep up the good work!

Hold On! do not read the caption to "today's picture" too quickly like I did: I had Neil Harri flying his dustbuster high into the atmosphere to get us today's picture. I promise to slow down and read Charlie's discription better before they launch me into space.

My plane flys a little lower and slower. In fact, I often get bug strikes on the trailing edges.

Bet there are no bugs where that photo was snapped :o)

For those who tune in to Shoebox Memories each Sunday, you know I like to find the connection to where we've been and where we're going. Mr. Ed Chaput sent me a photo which goes well with today's Pasty Cam. Ed's father worked for C&H at the Hubbell Smelter, and his grandfather before him at Quincy Mine. In the present generation Ed's son works with his hand, too. But it's in a world that his grandfather and great-grandfather probably never imagined. He builds these for Boeing:
