Eight years ago the snows came quite early in the fall, as you may recall. The Pasty Cam does.

No snow yet please.
Morning all!

Good Morning, Everyone. The rains are supposed to pull out of mid-Michigan later this morning, and it will be much cooler again. I'm not looking forward to snow. Shh-they are talking about the s-word here the first week in November, and that is just the week after next. I guess it is that time of the year.

Looking back in my journal I find that schools were canceled last year on Oct 12th due to a snow storm

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Tuesday, October 23, 2007 - 07:29 am:

Good morning! No snow!! It's actually supposed to be near 60 here today. The whole week calls for sun and great temps. I think they're teasing us for what's about to come. I do like that picture though.

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Tuesday, October 23, 2007 - 07:49 am:

Yes, we had a major winter storm about the 12th of October last year, complete with Winter Storm Warnings, or worse, large snow dumps, etc. It was commented then that that was really early for a big storm like that. If I remember correctly, even our schools down here in mid-Michigan were closed down for that storm, which was unheard of, that early.

I love this picture. The slight blurriness and foggyiness ( maybe a Finnish word ??) makes it pretty darn eerrie.
I'm thinking a spaceship just landed over the ridge, and they? just swung down the walkout stairs and it lit up the sky. Of all places, those chose da' UP.

Last year Oct. in W. UP some areas recorded 20 plus inchs of snow from just the one storm.

Good Morning, I am not ready for snow since I need to still get my tires rotated. Stupid place couldn't get my tires off and broke the lock so I need to go to a dodge dealer to get it done. For the record I will return to chevy on the next vehicle!

By Michael Du Long (Mikie) on Tuesday, October 23, 2007 - 10:34 am:

Garbage day here in Berkley also, cold and rainy right now but Sonny Elliot says it will be warmer this afternoon. Snowman do you use ice cream in your bowl of snowflakes? How many of us would lean our heads back and try to catch snowflakes on our tongues, or was I the only strange one?

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Tuesday, October 23, 2007 - 10:42 am:

Mikie, I was a strange one too who tried to catch snowflakes on my tongue! Still find it fun to do so every snow we get.

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Tuesday, October 23, 2007 - 10:51 am:

It's garbage day on our side of town today, too, here in mid-Michigan, along with the wet, dark, and dreary. :-)

How about making your own snow ice cream with your bowl of snowflakes. All you need is some real cream, half & half will do, plus some vanilla, and stir it up. It's even better if you pour some maple syrup on it. Now, if we could just wait about 6 weeks before we have enough snow to do that, please?

Mikie, the try to catch snowflakes on your tongue is fun, no matter what your age. I still do it, and so do my sons. So, of course you and Janie aren't the only ones!

By Paul Oesterle (Paulwebbtroll) on Tuesday, October 23, 2007 - 11:11 am:
