A classic Pasty Cam scene from Isle Royale 8 years ago today.

Good Morning
First Post

By john mich (Johnofmi) on Friday, September 14, 2007 - 04:42 am:

A good, but not so chilly, morning

By Lowell La Fave (Lowell) on Friday, September 14, 2007 - 04:44 am:

That was a close call John. It's 65 here in Missouri. Supposed to be another nice day in the upper 70's

By Lowell La Fave (Lowell) on Friday, September 14, 2007 - 04:50 am:

Charlie Sorry I forgot to thank you for the double bird the other day. That made my day.

By john mich (Johnofmi) on Friday, September 14, 2007 - 05:22 am:

Yeah, Lowell, close call. But close only counts in horseshoes and brain surgery. Not in the knock down, drag out, rough and tumble, dog eat dog world of Pasty Cam Early Birds!

By Lowell La Fave (Lowell) on Friday, September 14, 2007 - 05:57 am:

This picture today looks like pictures that I've seen from Finland.

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Friday, September 14, 2007 - 06:51 am:

Good Morning, Everyone!

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Friday, September 14, 2007 - 07:37 am:

TGIF everybody! Have a wonderful weekend!

By kay Moore (Mskatie) on Friday, September 14, 2007 - 07:39 am:

Top 'o the mornin' all. Does this scene make one think of a Thomas Kincaid painting?

By maija in Commerce Township (Maija) on Friday, September 14, 2007 - 07:43 am:

Someone asked yesterday if the Delaware mine tour is worth the money. It definitely is. It was much better when it was a guided tour, but it still is quite an experience. If someone can't do everything, however, I'd go for the Quincy mine tour. I also think it well worth the time to go to Central if it's still open this late in the season. It's a great example of an early miner's home.

Good morning. Thomas Kinkade would probably have a lighthouse or church in his picture Kay. Either way, it's really a nice picture. Bet you could do it.
It's only supposed to get to 55 here today. August and September have not been very kind. Have a great weekend.

By kay Moore (Mskatie) on Friday, September 14, 2007 - 07:56 am:

Guess these beautiful days are limited. This chilly morning in NW Il. means a good bowl of oatmeal with 1/2 & 1/2! (Hush...I know it's not suppose to be so rich but some treats are worth the guilt.)

By Lowell La Fave (Lowell) on Friday, September 14, 2007 - 08:16 am:

Kay Nothing wrong with a Bowl of Oatmeal with Half & Half with some Brown Sugar on it. Sounds like maybe I'll have that for breakfast.

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Friday, September 14, 2007 - 08:35 am:

Good morning one and all :-)

Supposed to get warm again this weekend (mid 90's), but the weathergirl said a phrase I haven't heard in months... it's going to be a DRY weekend!! Time to bring the musclecar out for a drive.

For MsKatie, Paulinda, and anyone else that was curious:
I replied to your questions from yesterdays (9/13) post; have a look.

By Brooke (Lovethekeweenaw) on Friday, September 14, 2007 - 08:53 am:

Good morning, should be nice here outside Ann Arbor too. Looking forward to tomorrow, my best friend and I are doing "stupid movie night" to enjoy the weekend. Have a good day all!

By Uncle Chuck @ Little Betsy (Unclechuck) on Friday, September 14, 2007 - 09:30 am:

Captain- what kind of car? Had a 1970 Mach I back in my teen years.

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Friday, September 14, 2007 - 10:04 am:

1968 Plymouth Roadrunner. I have photos in my gallery of it in various places around the Keweenaw....

By Tom Karjala (Tom) on Friday, September 14, 2007 - 01:24 pm:

That is a really nice picture of Isle Royale. I have set it as my screen picture. So many nice pictures I can hardly keep up.
I have a newer muscle car that I should take out for a spin--------MB C230 Kompressor Sport Sedan. Nice car for an old fogey, right???

By Uncle Chuck @ Little Betsy (Unclechuck) on Friday, September 14, 2007 - 05:47 pm:

Very Nice Tom! Now I drive a company van full of medical equipment, oh well Im saving $.

By k j (Kathiscc) on Friday, September 14, 2007 - 08:51 pm:

oh. and by the way, great picture!

By kay Moore (Mskatie) on Friday, September 14, 2007 - 08:55 pm:

Thanks Cap't. Paul. I so appreciate you taking the time to explain those beautiful mountains in China. I'm so facinated by them and what you wrote makes sense. The Grand Tetons do resemble these mountains but don't seem to have the mysterious feel for me like those in
China. Another place I'm intreagued by are the Flint Hills of Kansas. So simple but so artistic, at least to me. A couple snapshots of the Tetons are some of my favorite vacations memories, the blues and purples are my favorite colors anyways.

By Matt Karhu (Matt_k) on Friday, September 14, 2007 - 09:02 pm:

What's with this old fogey and his muscle car? I can picture him in the car with a woman about half his age, with dyed blonde hair, sitting next to him. (LOL!) If a "car" guy wants a real muscle car, he buys a Viper.

By Michael Du Long (Mikie) on Friday, September 14, 2007 - 09:11 pm:

Uncle Chuck do you service Manistee? My son in law is a doctor there.

By Uncle Chuck @ Little Betsy (Unclechuck) on Friday, September 14, 2007 - 11:17 pm:

Hi Mikie, yes I do, they purchase my Clinical Patient Recliners for the Patient floors and for Dialysis Department.

By Michael Du Long (Mikie) on Friday, September 14, 2007 - 11:30 pm:

My son in law has an office across the street from the hospital, Dr. Brian if you talk to him tell him I said hello.

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Saturday, September 15, 2007 - 12:50 am:

Sorry Matt, but if a car guy wants a real muscle car, he buys something from the 60's and not a modern car, especially a Viper; those things sound too much like a singer sewing machine on steroids :P

By Russell E. Emmons (Russemmons) on Saturday, September 15, 2007 - 03:09 am:

I have a "muscle" car so to speak, from the 50s we have been working on (Lots of time & $ for sure). I'm not saying yet what it is until it's at least running again! Have had it since 1970! One of about only 20 left in the world! Real oddball but really fast! Dave H. has seen it but don't you tell now Dave!

I agree, the Isle Royale photo looks like Finland!

By David Hiltunen (Davidcorrytontn) on Saturday, September 15, 2007 - 06:41 pm:

Ok I won't tell. And I agree totaly with Capt. Paul and thought along the same line when I read earlier the posts from Tom & Matt. The Singer on steroids is great, hope you don't mind if I use that line sometime?
Reading the posts of the temps in MI.makes me glad I moved here to TN. where it's 70 now. We are going to have a low of 49 later this week.
