By Marsha, Genesee/Aura (Marsha) on Friday, August 10, 2007 - 11:28 am:

My sympathies are with you, Mary. When my father passed away over a year ago, I printed the pastycam pages with prayers from my pastyfriends. They are nice to look back on.

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Friday, August 10, 2007 - 11:39 am:

Good Morning, Everyone! TGIF! Yesterday was incredibly humid here in Midland, and today seems to be pretty close to yesterday. We got a tiny amount of rain, but not enough to do any good. It's too bad that John W's 5 inches couldn't have been spread over a bigger area. :-)

I have always loved the Old Country Store and the other little stores in Copper Harbor. They are part of the fun of going to Copper Harbor.

Mary, again, I am really sorry to hear about your loss of your Mom. You continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

By Edward & Dolores Fulcher (Eddee) on Friday, August 10, 2007 - 11:49 am:

Maija, Check your email :) I just emailed you.

Kathy, Thank you so very much. I have received so much support from the people on this site. Hope to be home soon in the UP :)

Fran, I remember when Hal passed away and your 'adopted' son collected all our posts to you and emailed them your way. What a family we make, eh ;) A little disfunctional at times, but still family :)

Sur5er...I wish you better days ahead. Sometimes life's indignities can really get one down, but your name, Sur5er, tells me you can handle and raise above the lows that are with you. Good Luck!

Is anyone else having trouble w/ the pasty cam site? The BridgeCam and Airport Cam are not showing up, and Sharon's cam hasn't updated since the other day when it was stuck. I have refreshed and refreshed and nothing changes.

We are in the process of expanding the bandwidth to our main server, and there are a few glitches to work out.

By Grace M Wetton (Gmw) on Friday, August 10, 2007 - 10:20 pm:

Our sympathy to Mary Drew and family.

By Todd Heckenberg (Thbergs) on Friday, August 10, 2007 - 11:53 pm:

Have been visiting this site for over a year now and really enjoy it. We have friends who are heading UP on Sunday and wondered what the bug situation was like for camping and hiking/biking.
Thanks for any info,
The Heckebergs from Iowa

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Saturday, August 11, 2007 - 08:42 am:

Todd H, I think as long as you take adequate precautions (putting on bug spray, like Deep Woods Off, Cutter, etc), that bugs are not a big problem now. We were up there the end of June, and we did not run into any, including boating on the Portage. But, more important, my son has been in Houghton all summer, working and going to school at Michigan Tech. He has not run into any bugs. He even took a hiking class the second summer term, which included hikes to Canyon Falls and up Mt Baldi, and he did not have any bug problems. The one place that you might encounter bugs would be doing things like gardening and weeding, etc, which I doubt you would be doing. The other place might(?) be a hike in the deep woods, or something.

Have a great trip and enjoy Copper Country! August is a great time for it!
