Eight years ago we visited Pastor Charles Hart on the bridge to the Tabernacle at Gitche Gumee, all decked out for a wedding (the bridge, the Tablernacle, and the Pastor).

Good morning! Really a early bird today.

By Theresa R Brunk (Trb0013) on Wednesday, August 8, 2007 - 06:00 am:

LOL I was going to say that myself Paul. Good morning everyone. Happy Birthday to Deb on the official Day. :) And, do Trolls' sleep at all?

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Wednesday, August 8, 2007 - 06:51 am:

Good morning! Geez, thanks Theresa. The only one who beat you was my hubby!!! Well, and llamamama yesterday but that's because she left on a trip and wouldn't be available today.

It's another hot and muggy day here in Minnesota.

By P.Weed (Pweed) on Wednesday, August 8, 2007 - 07:29 am:

Dad, What are you doing up so early! It's still dark out!

By JH (Thumbgardener) on Wednesday, August 8, 2007 - 07:54 am:

Good morning everyone. Happy Birthday Deb. Hope you have a great day, even if you do have to work. Well at least you get 2 days of birthday wishes.
Just curious, who is baking this peach pie for your birthday?

By Beverly, San Jose (Beverly) on Wednesday, August 8, 2007 - 08:01 am:

Happy Birthday Miss Deb and many many more. So are you celebrating the rest of the week or until Mr. Deb has his Birthday. *<:)

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Wednesday, August 8, 2007 - 08:07 am:

Beverly,
I think we'll probably go out to eat some time in the middle of the month. That's what we usually do anyway. Thanks for thinking about me.

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Wednesday, August 8, 2007 - 08:10 am:

Sorry Judy, I didn't see your post. And Mr. Deb made the peach pie already yesterday. The peaches came off of our peach tree. Hard to believe, here in MN but they're very good. I was just about to go and have some for breakfast.

I watched that show about the Mackinac Bridge last night. I was having anxiety attacks just watching that host guy squeeze through the little spaces inside the pillars way down at the bottom where they have to paint. I had to close my eyes. It was interesting to see how comfortable the regular maintenance workers were with their duties, whether deep inside the pillars or high atop them. What a job!! I would have to say that job has the best view.

By WishingIWasInDaUP (Sur5er) on Wednesday, August 8, 2007 - 08:35 am:

Happy Birthday, Deb :) I hope Mr. Deb spoils you on your birthday :)

Cindy, I watched the Dirty Jobs show on the Mighty Mac, also. Don't know what was worse: the cramped conditions inside the supports, or the heights on the outside of the bridge. Must admit that my hands got sweaty just watching them climb the cables.

By Carmen Makela (Mrsmaxx) on Wednesday, August 8, 2007 - 09:41 am:

I also watched Dirty Jobs and am relieved to know that I wasn't the only one having a hard time watching! What an amazing job those people do.

By Michael Du Long (Mikie) on Wednesday, August 8, 2007 - 09:52 am:

happy birthday Deb, speed limit hey? Thought I would finish what Laurie started telling the world your age.

By Cindy Pihlaja Russell (Gone2long) on Wednesday, August 8, 2007 - 10:26 am:

The speed limit by my house is 35. You're a spring chicken Deb!

Cindy, thanks for the website, very interesting!

Good Morning, All!

Happy Birthday, again, Deb. My oldest son's birthday is in August, and he always used to prefer homemade peach pie with tree-ripened peaches to cake. (We don't have a peach tree; we buy them downtown at the farm market.) Now, though, he likes Cherry Cheese Cake. Anyway, enjoy your delicious peach pie & have a great day!

Sandy Carstens. If anyone that might know her could please e-mail me. Thanks, James

By Cheryl Rozman (Cotton) on Wednesday, August 8, 2007 - 11:30 am:

Happy Birthday Deb. In some places you'll be considered a senior citizen & get some discounts. Hey they are some bonuses to being our age. LOL Have a great day.

By Richard A. Fields (Cherokeeyooper) on Wednesday, August 8, 2007 - 01:51 pm:

I watched Dirty jobs last night too. Hearing the Michigan accents (I know, you don't have accents, but every one else does!) it made me smile. When Mike climbed the cable my wife and I both decided we couldn't do that. It was nice to see a Michigan Icon.

By Charlotte, Mishawaka, IN (Charlotte61) on Wednesday, August 8, 2007 - 11:32 pm:

Happy Birthday, Deb. I made it before midnight. Hope you enjoyed your day.
I watched the program on the Mackinac Bridge last night. My stomach felt just like it does on an airplane, ship, and some roads. I have a new respect for those keep the bridge in such great condition. Now I'm sure I will never be able to walk the bridge. That is something I would like to do but getting sick is not fun. I can hardly make it across the bridge over the Two Heart River. Last time we were there the wind was really blowing and I had to keep telling myself if a little kid could make it so could I.
