Collecting pop cans? Looking for thimbleberries? Lost a hubcap? Your guess is as good as mine. Just another glimpse of life in the U.P. eight years ago on the Pasty Cam.

Good morning from sunny and hot Berkley, suposed to get close to 100 so no work in the uncooled shop today. Jimmie the fat white cat has already staked out one of the registers for the cool air. Precious has gone back to work with her collar on and means that I have to get up in the middle of the night to help her get ready, then drive her to work then pick her up at the end of the day. Almost like me going back to work. Andrea the Irish dancer is fourteen and we are celebrating her birthday today. I sure am lucky having the grandkids and the kids that took care of us during our recouperating this last month. Also great friends who were so nice to us. Thanks to all.

Charlie--I'm going with the berry theory. My dad makes, and in
fact has always made, random stops to check on berries. Heck, last
summer a visit to family graves in Covington turned into an
opportunity to pick berries. He picked, and I carried out one of my
favorite activities--reading tombstones in small town cemeteries.

hi mary, can you please give an update on kevin?

Mary says: Sure, I can do that...thanks for asking.
Kevin's blood counts and other numbers continue to do what they're supposed to be doing. He was actually on an outpatient basis for a few weeks, but developed a fever and has been admitted back in the hospital in Detroit. There are still a lot of things going on with him right now, so we'd appreciate you keeping him in your prayers.

What happened at the Hut Inn? Storm damage?

By kosk in Toronto (Koskintoronto) on Monday, July 9, 2007 - 05:36 pm:

Thanks for the update on Kevin, Mary. How is your mother?

Mary says: Again, thanks for asking....Mom is doing a little better each day.

Glad to hear that, Mary.

Jeremy,

We had a whole series of issues which prevented opening The Hut yesterday and today, some storm related. You probably saw the sign if you drove by. The Hut should be open again tomorrow (Tuesday).

None of the Internet operation was affected (in the lower level of the Hut).
