Snowing in SE Michigan - looks like a "snow shaker"
First Post

By Norma in Midland on Thursday, December 23, 2004 - 12:47 pm:

Merry Christmas everyone!! Where is everyone today. Out shoveling snow? Here in Midland we are getting about 4-5 inches. It's pretty, but I wish I was in it instead of sitting at work. Oh well, only 1 more hour. Have a safe and happy Holiday!

Snow in Northern Indiana (Elkhart-Bristol) today, suppose to get up to 10",,and then going to -10 degrees Friday night and Christmas Day. Memories of my youth in Laurium. But will be back there on the 29th for a week - looking forward to it.

What end of Laurium did you grow up in?

I bet you went to the Briggs school??

I grew up on Seventh Street (south end)

We wish you all a MERRY CHRISTMAS. We Also had 8" of snow here in Monroe County today.

By Lori... Commerce Twp on Thursday, December 23, 2004 - 08:51 pm:

Here in Oakland county we had a bunch of snow...probably about 10"! It sure was pretty, but on the other hand it was not fun driving! I wish all drivers were like yooper drivers, and by that I mean being intelligent when driving in the snow. People just spin their tires around here... don't they realize they need to let up on the gas to make the car go in the snow? sheesh! It took my son an hour and a half to get to work this morning (from Commerce Rd to 8 mile and Grand River... it is normally a 20 minute ride. Happy Holidays to all and to all a good night! Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...

To the hockey memory guys...go to www.cchockeyhistory.org and you can see pictures from the 100th anniversary celebration of the start of pro hockey. It was held in Sept at the Dee Stadium. I know that Puppy died recently, but Joe and Tony Butkovich are in the pictures along with Mark Olsen from Tech and Marquette, Willy Lindstrom. Pics of the Red Wings vs. Tech alumni...Paul Coppo, Ralph Bammert, etc.

Well, to all those who were saving their nickels and dimes to
buy the old Jacobsville Lighthouse, I have news … the
lighthouse has been sold. The Bill Ditty family purchased it and
plans on opening it as a bed and breakfast in 2005. It should
make a great B&B!
