Fifth Street in Calumet eight years ago, during a more normal December. Snowfall total this year so far: 17". Normal December: 57".

First PostLike the snow covered street scene. No snow to shovel this Christmas in West Mi.

Good Morning. Whats all that stuff on the street?

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Tuesday, December 26, 2006 - 08:15 am:

Hey, that corner looks like the corner where my favorite store in Calumet is. The good old Copper Shop store. It is so full of good stuff.

I love this scene. Reminds me of days past.

What is really sad about Christmas is that it's over in a blink of the eye. It took weeks of shopping, baking cookies, wrapping presents, putting up the tree, decorating, planning the "Big" meal and it's all over in a matter of hours. It still was the best six hours of the year! The New Year sure doesn't compare to Christmas, does it?
Hope you all had a great Christmas!

nah christmas has to be the best holiday all year. even though it is just one day or a few hours with friends and family it's worth the troubles right?

What ever happened to the twelve days of Christmas?

Wen I was a young 'un we didn't even put up our tree until the day before, then family & friends would all gather 'round and pitch in to decorate the tree on Christmas eve, then all the brightly wrapped gifts would materialize under the tree for opening later that evening. I was even allowed to open one item that night(!), then off to sleep - to awake early the next morning and see what other goodies "Santa" delivered during the wee hours.

We wouldn't even think of taking the tree down 'til January 6th - you know, Twelfth Night, Epiphany.
