The Pasty Cam went indoors eight years ago for a girls hockey game at Houghton County Arena. Indoors is the only place you will find ice today, but the weather service has posted a heavy snow warning for tonight.

Wow Deb, just me and you

everyone else musta hit the road already ;-)

Merry Christmas everyone and drive safe!

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Friday, December 22, 2006 - 08:52 am:

Merry Christmas, everyone! At least the Keweenaw will have a white Christmas!

It looks like we will be getting our precipitation in the form of rain down here in mid-Michigan. I'm not a great fan of snow & ice, but Christmas is the one time of the year that I would like to have snow. Oh well...

By Ms. Katie (Mskatie) on Friday, December 22, 2006 - 09:08 am:

We have white here in northwest Illinois----fog! Can't see down the road to the next farm. Good day to stay in and write my Christmas cards and make final cookies. Yes, I know the cards will be late. Family and friends are used to me sending cards late, that's just me. Procrastinater Kay...

By Gonna be a Yooper (Joanie) on Friday, December 22, 2006 - 09:11 am:

My husband is in the garage building an ark, we're flooded down here in Illinois. No snow in sight. sigh

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Friday, December 22, 2006 - 09:20 am:

Yeah, Bob! It's strange to only have this many posts by this time, eh? I wouldn't still be here but I don't have to go in until 10 this morning. Unfortunately that means I have to work 'til 7 and work tomorrow morning. Oh well, good thing I like my job. Merry Christmas to you and everyone who will be leaving for parts unknown today.

By FJL (Langoman) on Friday, December 22, 2006 - 09:42 am:

Packers 9, Vikings 7..... Ugly game, but a win is a win..

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Friday, December 22, 2006 - 10:01 am:

All I want for Christmas is a quarterback, recievers that can catch, a pass defense and a coach with an imagination. Thats not much is it? It's tough to be a Vikings fan.......sigh.
Mr. Deb

By Gonna be a Yooper (Joanie) on Friday, December 22, 2006 - 10:07 am:

It's even tougher to be a Bear's fan......I know they won the last couple of games but, last Sunday's game, even though they won, was horrible, no defense.
Gee Mr. Deb, I don't think Santa can fit all that down your chimney.

By Liz B (Lizidaho) on Friday, December 22, 2006 - 10:27 am:

Idaho's Snake River plain is FINALLY getting the snow because I now have a longer drive to Reno area in the morning. A Grand Targhee ski powder alert is flashing on my screen. Island Park, West Yellowstone, Togwotee, Cooke City are getting dumped on. Christmas snowmobiling will be a BLAST in our area. Merry White Christmas!!

By dlp (Babyseal) on Friday, December 22, 2006 - 10:52 am:

Ms Katie, Don't worry about late cards. I think of it as being 12 days of Christmas, so getting cards inbetween Christmas and the New Year is not late. It's still the season. Most people will get their holiday cards from my house within the 12 days of Christmas, not before.
Merry Christmas to all!

By Cotton (Cotton) on Friday, December 22, 2006 - 11:03 am:

LIZ HAVE A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS. ENJOY YOUR HOLIDAY.

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Friday, December 22, 2006 - 12:43 pm:

If you think that's bad Mr. Deb, try being a Lions fan (which I'm not :P). They need all that plus a new GM and owner!!

Ugly game last night, but it's still a "W" in the win column; now if they just could have done that earlier in the season.....

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Friday, December 22, 2006 - 12:46 pm:

Heck I'm still thrilled Tech swept the Sioux last weekend. Hopefully that will carry into the GLI and the boys can bring home at least that championship!!

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Friday, December 22, 2006 - 01:39 pm:

And there's always the Redwings.

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Friday, December 22, 2006 - 02:23 pm:

Well, here's a thought. I suppose the Wings could kick the Lions out of Ford Field (and out of Detroit for that matter), flood the field and make it a hockey arena. It would probably draw more fans and I don't think the Lions would try to take it back; you ever see a 350 lb lineman on ice skates?? not a pretty sight.....

Of course, the other thought I'm having today is that it looks as though the Lions and Raiders are going to finish the season tied. So how do we figure out who picks first in the draft?? Throw out the stats and create a game where they would play and the loser gets first pick. It could be hyped up as the "Toilet Bowl". But even if the Lions "won" the first pick, they'd probably just pull a "Texans" and draft some unknown anyways....

My apologies, I'm over the flu, it's Friday and I can't help myself!! ;-)

By Gonna be a Yooper (Joanie) on Friday, December 22, 2006 - 02:50 pm:

You go, Captain Paul, sow those wild oats!

By Gonna be a Yooper (Joanie) on Friday, December 22, 2006 - 04:48 pm:

Just for your information; my Yooper cookies turned out great, they're smiling from "ear to ear" and they have a white "frosting" on them! I put them in the refrigerator and they looked at me and said; "Ahhh, this is more like home now"!

By Margaret, Amarillo TX (Margaret) on Friday, December 22, 2006 - 05:03 pm:

It's still cold here and some ice and snow on the ground. It should be up to 40 tomorrow. Hope the hockey players are doing well. I know it is a favorite past time.

By eugenia r. thompson (Ert) on Friday, December 22, 2006 - 05:20 pm:

What I want for Christmas is our live BridgeCam back. I got so used to checking it every day; the MTU one is good but just not the same.

Joanie -- Speaking of arks -- my youngest daughter thought that Noah's boat was a zark, not an ark. I suppose when you say it together it sounds like Noah's Zark.
