The moon settles over Lake Superior one morning, eight years ago.

We didn't see much of a moon, or sun for that matter, over the weekend as the lake effect snows kicked in. All told, I'm guessing we had a foot of snow (at least judging from the number of times I shoveled).

Good morning! We have lots of these birds around our place.

By Ray Laakaniemi (Rlaakan) on Monday, December 4, 2006 - 06:51 am:

We visited a family yesterday who has cardinals, pileateds, pheasants, juncos, nuthatches and an occasional blue jay, among others, right out their window. Talk about envy!

Mary, will wait to hear about the arrival of that little bundle of joy!

By Michael Du Long (Mikie) on Monday, December 4, 2006 - 07:10 am:

Good morning, I am up trying to get another early bird, but not early enough. Baby sat my grandson Jack and his sister Emma last night and got the rules on how to take care of them. When Kelly came home she was amazed that Jack was asleep and Emma was ready for bed. Andrea the Irish dancer was there to help me. Kelly thought that she would come home to a house in shambles, since I hurt my back the weekend before watching my other grandsons she wasn't expecting too much of us. Since I am up might as well make a breakfast for Precious before I send her off to work.

Chilly here but he moon was out in full glow last night! Isn't that like the wolf moon or something? Can't remember. We only have coyotes.

Good Monday morning all,
We went to see Santa on Saturday. Got a GREAT picture of the three grandkids. I only wish I could have taken a picture of Garrett ( 4) He was shaking hand with him. First year of no crying, We kind of missed it. Leslie-9,Carmen-6 and Garrett-4. We have an abundance of snow here and it feels like "CHRISTMAS"

Watched the huge yellow orb set this morning while walking down the hill to work. Beautiful! Just wish the inversion hadn't hit with the phosphate plant smell.

Moon in December was known by many native Americans and other cultures as the "Cold Moon." The Sun is at its weakest now: it is lowest in the sky and the trajectory of the Moon is therefore higher than in any other Full Moon event. The nights are longest and darkest, and the winter cold has taken over the land.

I took the dog out around midnight last night and the moon reflecting on the snow made it seem like daylight, it was beautiful!

You know it's darkest before the dawn ...
from a song, don't remember the title, but I heard it sung by Arlo Guthrie.

By Gonna be a Yooper (Joanie) on Monday, December 4, 2006 - 03:53 pm:

Arlo Guthrie sure followed in Woody's foot steps as songwriter, harmonica and guitar player, a great artist! Sang protest songs just like his dad!
Danbury, was the song "City Of New Orleans"?

By Ken ja Mimi from da UP (Kenjamimi) on Monday, December 4, 2006 - 10:44 pm:

The bright full moon is out in Cornell tonight. Nice and bright the last coupla nights. Supposed to get colder tonight, too. Hei! to cousin Jarmo.

By Danbury (Danbury) on Tuesday, December 5, 2006 - 01:47 am:

Nope, Joanie. Something like "Bright early morning", or at least containing some words like that.
