The days are getting shorter now, so these boys have to play that much faster to get all the fun in before it gets dark out! Michele Blau managed to capture the intensity of the moment with this budding quarterback getting ready to fire off a spiraling football! That's what I call deep concentration when you have the tongue involved in the process too! :-> Looks like our young quarterback plays offense and defense, since he's going after the runner in the second shot too. Don't you just love to see young people enjoying themselves in the fresh U.P. air?

Happy Veteran's Day! Remember to thank a vet!

Congratulations to the Copper Kings for a good effort in regional football last night. There season was ended by Sutton Bay, which advances to the semi-finals.

Oh, to be young again. The UP is the BEST place in the world to live. I know, I’ve been all over. ;-))

Yes, I do enjoy seeing young people enjoying the fresh, clean, UP air. Nice to see that they aren't hooked on the play stations. Wonder why kids are so obese now-a-days, no healthy outdoor activities!

OOPS, Happy Veteran's Day to all that helped protect our country!

A special thanks to my dad, John J Foster, of Evergreen Park, Illinois, for his service during WWII. HAPPY VETERAN'S DAY, DAD! You are my mentor

Happy Veterans' Day to my fellow Vets. Don't forget, there are many Vets who also served and protected the US without having seen combat, but thier contributions were important too. Many young men and women have spent time in places like Korea, Sinai, Germany, Guantanamo, and the Phillipines, and even here in the states. Time in the field, away from family, and those dreaded middle of the night watches are disheartening, but part of the job. But we appreciate the job they do and did.

Can't of course speak about about other countries, but economical, political and military aspects aside, I like the idea of having them here just so, even if that isn't their purpose. All official diplomacy aside, they're functioning as envoys of their country. I'd call that an important contribution. Maybe even more important than others.

I am thankful to all the military men and women, past and present, who sacrifice so much for our freedom.
