Today's peek into the past is a shot of Schlatter Lake, located near the tip of the Keweenaw. Only old logging trails provide access to the lake. From here, it is just a hop, skip and jump to the tip of the Keweenaw and another magnificent view.

I think I would take cold and snow anyday over that much heat!!!

Amen to snow and cold! In winter you can always put more clothes on but, summer one can take so many clothes off.

Mr Nash: I do not see where your word bucolic applys to the picture. Here you have a young man going fishing, an every day, modern occurence, not an old fashioned rustic influence in his head. All he is thinking about is that big fish he is going to catch and the struggle he will have to pull it in. Can you tell me how your word applies? :)

As for the calender. I think it would be very unfair to put in some children and not others as surely there would not be enough space for all. Pretty soon we will be having pictures of our dogs and cats and other cities or countries and so on and so on, or heaven forbid 'conversation'.

I was just lucky enough to *watch* the bridge going down (on the MI Tech bridge cam) after that masted ship (I forget its name) went thru! I feel so lucky!

Hi Bev, long time no read!
"Here you have a young man going fishing, an every day, modern occurence..."
True, that he is ... something which certainly is rural to me, now if it only were truly an every day, modern occurence... as opposed to an urban youth going to hang with the local street gang... I'll sure vote for more of the former vs. the latter!

Ok Frank, I get it. I bow to your intelligence. I was just trying to explain it from the boys point of view, you...from your perspective.
