Charlie, forgive me for taking up some of everyone's time right now. But as I go over the pasty cam for the 4 days I couldn't get online, I found you piece with the Detroit newspaper about Nita Engle the artist. Thank you SO much for the connection. I would never had seen it otherwise. I was fortunate to have taken her fall workshop at Dillman's Lodge last fall. She is my hero, my image of a true artist. That article told me even more about her and her attitude concerning her creativity! Thank you!

It was great crossing the Mighty Mac...no better feeling than that in the entire world ;) It's a wonder I didn't get a tummy ache, while in da UP. Of course, I had to start with a snack of UP fudge...then over to the pizzaria for a hoagie for lunch...because folks in Indiana do not know what a hoagie is. Then, when I stopped at the gas station to fill up my truck, I of course had to have a couple of slices of beef jerky that they sell in the UP gas stations.

Found a great place in St. Ignace that sells UP t- shirts for only $7...so I loaded up on those. All that shopping of course got me hungry...so off we went to get some pasties....and we loaded our bellies and the cooler full of pasties.

Before crossing back over the Mighty Mac, we took a walk along the shore and I put my feet in the Straits. All in all, I had a wonderful day in da UP celebrating my birthday. Just wish I could stay there forever and not have to come back to Indiana. Sigh.
