Jerry Oleksy, who has earned a Master Angler Certificate from the DNR, has visited the Copper Country for 48 years. Now the highlights will include catching this 22 inch smallmouth bass. His daughter, Tricia Oleksy Spayer snapped these photos at the Red Sands Resort in Lac La Belle. Doing what you love in a place you love...life doesn't get much better.

Thanks for passing on the love of a truly magical place Dad! It will be forever in my heart and in my son's! Great catch in more ways than one.
Love ya,
Jean

Nice!

I actually have to give my brother Chris credit for the bass photo. We owe the credit of visiting the Keweenaw to our mom Betty, who grew up there.
Thank you, Mary, for posting our photos today. It must be my lucky Pasty Cam day. 6 years ago today, another of my favorite photos was featured.
Great catch, Dad, congratulations!!

Nice bass, Hopefully he gave you plenty of air action.

I have a 25 lb Northern and a 12lb walleye on my wall.

Much to the dismay of my wife, I'm looking for a trophy bass and brook trout to complement them ;-)

When my children were young we spent our summers here in the Keys. We spent hours on the dock watching the reef fish...Beau Gregorys,Queen Angels,Sargent-Majors. They were beautiful! Finally my twin sons decided they wanted a salt water fish tank. They spent hours getting the tank ready and finding coral pieces and sand to make it as nice as possible. They collected reef fish with a small net and we enjoyed the tank until it was time to return to Michigan....then we returned the fish to the ocean...it was all a long time ago.

Tricia, Nice pictures in your album and a beautiful family. Brunette Park is one of my favorites. A long time ago, I got my dad's car hung up on a tree stump there, I was on a "road trip" looking at scenery, mainly the female variety I suspect....

Ahh, those summer days as a kid fishing on Lac La Belle.....

Lac La Belle is one of the best places on earth. My grandmother's family had a place there in the forties and we still enjoy the same property today. My grandmother tells us stories of going to parties at Red Sands and how she had as much fun in the area as we do today. Being from Houston, I always looked forward to summers @ Lac La Belle. Thanks for spreading the joy of this great place to so many pasty cam viewers, and...congrats on the catch.
