Morning everybody! I'm sure today won't be as much fun since most of us have to work. Sure was fun to end the weekend on that note though.

Geez, Laurie, you're all heart. lol Glad you guys get to do that anyway. I bet it was beautiful on the bike yesterday. I heard it was just as hot there as it was here. It was darn near sweltering here. Couldn't even finish my planting til after supper when the sun went behind the clouds.

Mikie, Just thought I'd tell you that I just checked on the babies and the kids, mom & dad are all doing well. I think they probably had their fill of ladybugs yesterday and they look good and healthy.

Great fun yesterday with all the good natured postings. I can just imagine that Charlie and Mary were laughing so hard they couldn't get a post in edgewise. No one knew of course but all of you helped to cap off a perfect B-day weekend. As the saying goes, "Laughter is good medicine". or something like that. Enjoy the day everyone.

Here's to a wonderful Monday, everyone :) I'm going to finish up some paperwork...get some laundry out on the line...and quitting time is gonna be about noon, so I can go outside and float in my pool :)

Mikie & Pennie: Did you see my post at 10:16 last night saying I was just a stone's throw away from you guys as I headed for Metropolitan United Methodist Church down Woodward? I thought I smelled meatloaf!

Marsha, I made hotdogs with the worst corn I had ever had. The hot dogs were from Omaha Steaks and were excellent. Just had one today, tonight it is hamburgers with baked potatoes,greenbeans, and some kind of desert, because my wife deserves it. how did you like your little tour? Every once in a while I take a ride along the river and Lake St. Clair and take in the Grosse Points, nothing like the Gross Point in the CC, but the houses are nice to look at. I am making the meatloaf for the homeless that will be staying at my wifes church this week. Wont be making it till Friday, bet Precious's pal Cindi that mine will go over better then hers. Her family used to own a restaurant here in Berkley. She thinks she can out cook me. One of us is in for a surprise.

BJmilford....I had another fine night at NOMC Thursday. Tried to send you a HI but none of the girls would do it for me.

Mentioning Berkley, my aunt/uncle live there, over towards Cooledge and 12. We were there once during the Dream Cruise and what a wild weekend that was. I didn't have my car there to cruise with everyone else, but we still had a blast........

Big news in Berkley there were four thieves who were chased right down my street and I didn't even see any of it. I guess I should go outside more often. They were all caught. They ran by on foot I heard some voices, but I thought it was the guys who are supposed to reroof my house. I should have known something was going on because Jimmie the fat cat was going crazy, running around the house. He is more of a dog then the last one I had. Follows me around the house all day long. Kenny my son in law works here in the city and just told me the fire hydrants here were going to be changed, means brown water so I took a quick shower and shut off the washer. It is nice having connections.

12 mile is my old "stomping grounds",,,, my parents lived in Royal Oak (after moving down here from da U.P.) and we lived off of 12 and Washington which meant walking to Dondero every day.

Connections are great to have, especially when it means saving your laundry from brown water.....

Where was I yesterday Mikie?? Unfortunitely just outside of Houston TX where we live. We (Dr. Nat and I) wish we were back in the Keweenaw, as well as most of the PastyCammers it would appear by all the generous comments we recieve about our geologic knowledge of the area. Maybe we'll have to start playing the Texas lottery. Yeah, I'm sure the state of Texas would love us spending their money to move OUT of Texas, lol.

We own a 68 Plymouth Roadrunner, fully restored. I sure do miss cruising up to Copper Harbor in it at a nice slow pace, not the "omg I have to do 75 to keep from getting rear-ended" like here. Not that it won't do almost double that, but the fact that it is a rolling piece of americana means I shouldn't have to. I keep threatening to make a photo gallery so I can show off some UP pics, both geologic and a few of "Zorro" (every car needs a good name ;-)

Can anyone help me with finding a camp or cottage for a long, September weekend rental? Would prefer being in the Houghton/Hancock greater metropolis area. I'm taking my best friend (who's never been) to the CC, but here's the twist - there will be two adults and two certified therapy dogs. Hope to stop in at Still Waters and visit with the residents. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

So long as Mikie sticks to the grilla, and not the thrilla, I think we'll be ok ;-)

Although it could be a new worldwide exercise rage, Thriller while you Griller!! "Just 20 short minutes each time you bbq and you too can look like the King of Pop"........ I think I'll stick to walking!!

Check out the Keweenaw Chamber of Commerce website www.keweenaw.org Once there, click on "Lodging" and then "Cabins and Cottages" and it should give you a nice selection of places to choose from. Unfortunitely, your dogs might present a problem, but given the circumstances I bet most will work with you on that...

Fairandfinn, Love the idea of you taking your therapy dogs to the CC so they can visit the folks at Still Waters. I have a companion dog, which I travel with...and I have found that hotels which generally do not take animals, to be very accomidating. When you make your reservations, just stress that these are therapy dogs.

To answer your question, I graduated in '72 from soon to be closed Dondero. They are moving the Dondero kids over to Kimball and renaming that school Royal Oak High School so class of '06 is the last graduating class for both schools, sad to say!

Marsha,I pictured the same thimg:) I think he has old "arthur" tho like I do so, it would be hard to do the Thriller dance.

All you Dondero grads there is a site for the closing it is www.RoyalOakDondero.com it tells everything that is going on and they are looking for alumni for the site. One of the people that I graduated with owns Dugans on Woodward his name is Larry Payne and Steve Bera owns the Roost in Madison Heights always some 61 grads there expecialy on second Wed of the month.

Capt. Paul I worked for Chrysler for forty years and drove just about every car they made during that period. I have postcards of the plant that your car was built at.Lynch Road Assy. remember the sixty eights because I just returned from Germany and went to the LRA plant as my new assignment.For quiet some time I had one of the Road Runner horns that I would move from car to car, but alas I put it somewhere and can't find it. Now I drive boring cars, Neons. Are you coming to the Cruise this year? Maybe I will have my Thrilla dance perfected by then. The next door neighbor just got a new stainless grill, you know what that means, I was at Lowes looking at them today. Do your relatives still live in Berkley? If they do they probably know my wife everyone does.We live on Franklin road by Woodward.

Mikie, did you work at Chrysler anytime during the 70's? I bought a "74 Duster brand new at that time and still got 'er after all these years. Had a few 69 RoadRunners and the "big daddy" a '70 Superbird.

Llamamama, Was glad to hear you enjoyed the posts yesterday. You should have been there. It really was a hoot. I talked so much yesterday that I can hardly think of a thing to say today.

JH, Yeah, I saw that trollperson was on far before the picture. Funny, when I do that cuz I have to leave for work, I don't get the early bird. I smell something UP. Glad you liked the photos. We sure had fun watching them just sitting there all plastic with their plastic ladybugs. I swear that nobody has more fun than pastycammers.

Sur5er, Sure hope you had fun floating around in your pool. I could have used ours this past weekend it was so hot. But then I wouldn't have had so much fun talking to you guys. It takes ours a while to warm up because it's done by the sun. And it's not even full yet. By this weekend we should be good to go. Then I suppose the grandkids will just LOVE grandma and grandpa. Went to their little track and field event today. It was so hot and there was no rhyme or reason to what they were doing. That went above and beyond grandparently duty. Oh well, they were both happy to see me there.

Caught up with the posts after we got back from the cottage last night. What fun you had. By the way I saw the biggest flamingo today. It was at the card and party shop. Stood about 6 or 7 foot tall. What a sight that was. If I'd had my camera I'd have taken a picture for all to see.

Two more days and school is over for us. The kids are finished tomorrow. I am looking forward to being off for a few weeks. Next week we leave for WI and where ever the van goes. With it's new wheels, ball joints and wheel aliegnment it should take us to some great sites.

It's way too late o'clock and I just got home from work. Mondays- no more good! I want to rewind back to yesterday. Oh yeah, this is Mr. Deb. The one positive of this day is that its now closer to Friday (and one day closer to retirement). Need some more laughs and a little less(or alot) stress. Now I'm going to be hooked on reading the posts every day just like Deb, thanks everyone. Thats not a complaint just in case you were wondering. Have a good evening and see you tomorrow.

Charlotte, I've been meaning to ask you what you teach at Mishawaka High School. I graduated from there in 1995. Looks like we'll be visiting Mishawaka the first week in July for sure now :)

Janie, I started work for Chrysler in 1964 at Dodge Main, and worked there till I went to the service and when I returned I was assigned to the old Plymouth plant on Lynch road. I worked from early 66 to 1980 when the plant closed. After that I always worked in stamping plants and parts plants.I worked around the Roadrunners and the Superbees. The Superbird had a hemi didn't it? I never paid attention to what we built since I did not work for production, I was once asked by an enthusist what cars were built where I worked and couldn't tell him, the next day I made sure I knew what we made. In the early sixties one of my friends dads worked on the prototype of a car that would run on any thing that was flamable,it looked like a seventy Charger. In those days I had what are called overnighters, a different car every night, that you had to critique and if there were problems you had to report them in the morning.

Ms. Katie, I just came on here to tell you to contact Mary about that but I guess Mary was way ahead of me. What WOULD we do without her. If you're as smart as I am though, you don't learn this stuff so good. lol They were funny, weren't they? Hubby and I both got home from work today and said we wanted it to be yesterday again. I hated being at work for the first time in a long time and he hated being at work AGAIN today. (chuckle) Just wanted to be home with friends. Thanks guys for putting up with us. Unfortunitely I wont be able to make it up there this year. I to drive a 2000 neon that I bought in college. Now we're looking to get a new car, but wavering between a charger and a magnum, kinda leaning toward the charger, but we'll see. We absolutely love the roadrunner. It's a nice cruising car yet quick enough to outrun every riceburner out there!! Mine has a 440 in it, which wasn't supposed to be available in a roadrunner until 69, but I hear that since my 68 is a late 68, you guys might have accidently dropped a 440 out of a GTX in it; any truth to that?? It is a matching number car. I would love to see some of those postcards sometime of Lynch.

Superbirds came with a 440, a 440 6 pack, and the hemi. Any one of those are quite pricey. But anything with a hemi is pricey these days.....

Capt. Paul, I have a friend with a new hemi just sitting in a crate in his garage. The late 68s had the option of the 440, or a 383, I think what happened was a problem at the Mound road engine plant, a heat strike and the 383s were not made in time for build out. I was in labor relations in those days and that seems to be what happened. I will send you a postcard of the plant if you email me your snail mail address.

Ok, We have done mil bashing, husband/male bashing, next weekend is supposed to be wife/women bashing, how about the following weekend being sibling bashing? Lets beat the 71 postings from Sunday, think out how we will get back at certain people. Mr. Deb and/or Mr Sur5er should try to be the early birds. There are thousands of people who read this about half are men so lets show them what we can do. With that I am going to bed so I wont be bashed this morning.

Mikie....you drive the Neon?...Did you know Bob Marcel, V.P. at Chyrsler, was responsible for building that car?.....Bob is "YOOPER" from Iron River......He had to convince Lee Iaocco (sp) to go with the idea......it was a successful venture. Bob was a neighbor here in Escanaba after he retired but now lives back home in Iron River..... ...GO UP...

Mikie, I have new for you. MR. DEB ALREADY was the early bird. The brat beat me to it this morning. Not my fault he has to be to work at 6:30 in the morning and has an hour and a half drive to get there. SHEESE!!!!

Hey Mikie...just bought my 16 year old a 1997 Neon on Friday...so far we had a good weekend with it...hopefully he can get two or three good years out of it...

My kids inheirated an old 1970 Chevy Nova when they were in their teens.That was in the late eighties, all three of them drove it and I gave it to my buddies daughter and she still has it. My wifes family has given my kids cars through out thier lives. One of the perks of being the only grandchilderen in the family. You should see how my grandkids are spoiled, no cars yet they are too young. Justin made fun of my Ram Van calling it the mother ship, but he now has two kids and he thinks the van will last until the two year old will be driving. My wife loves her Neon, it is a 2001 and has about 13000 miles on it. Mine on the other hand is last years model and has 53000 on it. I haven't had to do anything to either one except tires on mine and a battery in Precious' car. Didn't know who was responsible for the Neon, but Iacocca took the credit. Boy my spelling is bad today have had to use spellcheck several times.
