Good morning everyone. We have a couple of inches of beautiful snow covering the ground. Oh what a beautiful day, eh. :)

By Margo (Margo) on Saturday, January 21, 2006 - 10:06 am:

Sur5er, You were lucky. Here in SE Michigan had nothing but a few flurries. All we heard on Friday was about the 4 - 7 inches of snow we were going to get. Let it snow....Let it snow....Let it snow.

By Charlotte, Mishawaka, IN (Charlotte61) on Saturday, January 21, 2006 - 01:34 pm:

Good afternoon from Mishawaka, IN. The sun is shinning and the snow is melting. Snow in the areas where the sun shone on are gone. The rest will be gone soon.

Paulwebtroll and Sur5er, Thanks for the congrats on the team win. Having a child die is not something I would wish on anyone. I am thankful for the 34 years God allowed us to have Andy here on earth. Not a day goes by that I don't think of him.

Sur5er I know how you feel about working with numbers. Lots of people don't get it. Math was always one of my favorite subjects in school. To this day I won't use a calulater to figure out math questions. I can do it faster than trying work the calulator. You know you can't teach an old dog new tricks.

dlp, Sur5er,
Stuck this in yesterday's notes but you never know if people go back a day...

My wife, Alisa, owns "Sierra's Treasures", across from the Community Arts Center, first block in downtown Hancock. She sells second-hand women's and childrens clothes, toys, books, etc. Some of it on consignment. It was originally "Kids N Stuff", in Houghton when we bought the business a few years ago.

Hi everyone! I'm trying to get my dad on Pasty Cam, but am not having much success.

Hope everyone is having fun at the Festival. My dad is really enjoying reading past posts.

By WishingIWasInDaUP (Sur5er) on Saturday, January 21, 2006 - 06:33 pm:

Hi Kosk's dad :) Waving at you from the most southern shores of Lake Michigan. Just wanted you to know that you raised a wonderful daughter ... and that we all love her stories of growing up, and of the times she spends with you, and the rest of the family, in Michigan :)

Charlotte, I am sure that your son Andy, through his teaching profession of statistics, has touched many a life....because so many things in our lives, are affected by statistics :) What was so ironic about me being taught statistics, is that I wasn't really that good at math...and the highest level I accomplished, was Algebra I.

Thanks Marc. I will definately have to try to stop in Alisa's shop, next time I am in Houghton. By the way, Alisa sounds wonderful...raising the kiddies, and managing a business, on top of being so independent while you are on the high seas.

Japei, what a lovely family! And your baby son is beautiful.

By Ms. Katie (Mskatie) on Saturday, January 21, 2006 - 08:19 pm:

Japei, thanks for sharing you photos with us. My goodness how old is he now? And I don't know what that wonderful building shown, is. But that is what I feel should only be built rather than those horrid "McMansions". Especially for non-residents. What's happened to simplicity these days? (grumble).

By kosk in Toronto (Koskintoronto) on Sunday, January 22, 2006 - 10:00 pm:

Sur5er,

What a kind thing to say. I'm back in Toronto
checking my e-mails after a nice weekend
with my father and in-laws.

I had no success setting my dad up to
communicate with Pasty Cam so I guess I'll
just print the comments that I know he'd find
interesting and read or mail them to him.
Maybe I'll have more success the next trip I
make.

Sounds like everyone had a good weekend in
the Keweenaw. Sad about the accident on US
41 near Teal Lake in Negaunee. My daughter
was ice fishing in the derby there on Saturday
and had the misfortune to witness some of
the tragic events.

No snow here in Toronto though we ran into
snow between London and Sarnia, Ontario on
Saturday morning.

So, what happened on US 41 near Negaunee? I guess I could ask my girlfriend in Ishpeming but as long as you know maybe you could post it. Thanks.

By WishingIWasInDaUP (Sur5er) on Monday, January 23, 2006 - 07:43 am:

UsedToBeAYooper,
