Taking a stroll where snowmobiles have gone before you is always easier than trudging through the fluff for both (wo)man and beast. Kodi seems to be sniffing at something out of view and off the trail, perhaps delaying the decision whether to take the plunge and head into the deeper snow or not. It looks like Lori Houle-Vial took advantage of the pause in their explorations to check out the contrast of the white snow against a strikingly blue sky. Can't you almost smell the crisp morning air?

By Smfwixom (Trollperson) on Wednesday, January 4, 2006 - 06:35 am:

So pretty - wish I were there right now instead of being in this wet, foggy, dreary mess we've had in troll land the last week......

By Brock Waugh (Brock) on Wednesday, January 4, 2006 - 06:35 am:

Well that is a lot of snow. Ever since Christmas eve the only stuff coming down out of the sky where I live is rain. Not very fun since it's winter in Michigan. I think it's about 38 or so out right now... with more rain in the forcast. But can't last forever huh it's January. Every one have a great day especially you Debra J.

By Sunrise Side MI (Ilovelucy2) on Wednesday, January 4, 2006 - 07:12 am:

Good Morning all... I put the second picture on my background. At least the snow on my puter is much prettier than the rain, slush, and mud here. We are due for more snow to cover this junk up. Have a good Wednesday everyone!!!!!

It didn't take long for our NEW ARRIVALS page to get going for 2006. And we're glad to announce it was one of our own staff families which provided the new arrival! John and Melissa Schneiderhan had a busy day yesterday (well, mostly Melissa) as they welcomed Emma Irene Schneiderhan to the New Year. Both mother and baby are doing well, and John is rested-up after having the most time off in all his years with Pasty.NET!

Have a great day everyone - especially Brock!

By JOHN AND ANNE KENTUCKY (Username) on Wednesday, January 4, 2006 - 08:36 am:

I know this is a bit off topic, but we should all take a moment to reflect on the mine disaster that claimed so many lives in West Virgina.

By elm (Grampy) on Wednesday, January 4, 2006 - 08:49 am:

Congratulations John and Melissa! Beaautiful baby.

By WishingIWasInDaUP (Sur5er) on Wednesday, January 4, 2006 - 08:57 am:

Wow Lori...what beautiful winter pics. Great eye ;)

Congrats are definately due to Melissa and John on the arrival of their precious baby girl.

And yes, I have definately been keeping the miners...and their families in my thoughts and prayers these past few days. You have to believe in miracles.

By JanieT (Bobbysgirl) on Wednesday, January 4, 2006 - 09:31 am:

Congratulations to the new family! It was just about 27 yrs. ago we learned that our little girl was going to be joining us..my daughter and I still look at each other that way as in the picture, except the look is more like,"you're doing what?"

By WishingIWasInDaUP (Sur5er) on Wednesday, January 4, 2006 - 09:38 am:

Bobbysgirl...how neat. There is nothing more wonderful and special than the mother-daughter bond, eh.

By Brent in UPstate NY (Brent) on Wednesday, January 4, 2006 - 09:38 am:

Hey! Baby pictures!
Congratulations John and Melissa on the littlest Schneiderhan.
Here's something to thing about:
Your baby will be living past (probably welllll past) the year 2100. Here's to health.

The scenery is always so beautiful when snow makes it look that way. Its snowing ever so elegantly right now. Makes for grand picture taking!
Great pictures Lori.

Congratulations to the Schneiderhan family! May you always remember how lucky you are...

By Erica - Florida Keys (Erica) on Wednesday, January 4, 2006 - 02:56 pm:

What a great start to the new year...welcome Emma!

By Ms. Katie (Mskatie) on Wednesday, January 4, 2006 - 03:32 pm:

Welcome sweet little Ms. Emma. Congratulations to mama and papa. The one problem about having your birthday so close to the holidays is either people forget our birthday or have run out of funds and/or enthsiasm. My mother, my sister and I all had birthdays within a week or two of Christmas. :>

By Ms. Katie (Mskatie) on Wednesday, January 4, 2006 - 03:36 pm:

PS, I'll trade one day here in the sunny 80 degree, humid coastal area for one day to walk the trail on a fluffy, nippy snow trail

By David J. Whitten (Djwhitten) on Wednesday, January 4, 2006 - 04:35 pm:

I wonder if anyone has and will share a list of dates and events for the up coming Heikenpaiva?
Thanks!

I ain't seen the sunshine since...right now! Beautiful pictures,Lori.I think these particular clouds are heralding wind and white stuff. Whatever the case may be,we can raise our hoods while hoofing underneath the trees.
Enjoy your babies, parents! They grow and go too quickly, though when mine were small I found it hard to believe at times. I am so glad memories and stories never age.

By Lorelei (Lorelei) on Wednesday, January 4, 2006 - 06:54 pm:

Ms. Katie, I will trade you a day for a day. I am sort of a beach bum :)

By Ms. Katie (Mskatie) on Wednesday, January 4, 2006 - 10:10 pm:

Lorelei, I don't mean to rub it in, but we went to a beach just Sunday, New Year's Day. It was a long wait for the free ferry to Port Aransas but the beach was fun. Watched the fishermen and women along the jetty. And with the wind and sand blowing didn't notice the humidity.Close your eyes and feel the wind and hear the waves. That's the best I can do for now. :)

By Nate (Nalwine) on Wednesday, January 4, 2006 - 10:50 pm:

Debra--
No Callie Jane yet. We're hoping Callie will make her appearance tomorrow. That will put her officially 2 weeks over due

By Thomas Baird (Thomas) on Sunday, September 13, 2009 - 09:47 am:
