Judy Byykkonen and the “girls” love an outing at the Calumet Waterworks Park (a.k.a. Bucky’s). The shoreline changes from day to day all year long, but more-so this time of year when the ice is coming and going. The waves still wash ashore on the ice there and freeze into icicles with the colder nighttime temperatures. So those ice sculptures on the shore, change with each crashing wave. And then of course one of the other attractions for Judy is how peaceful it is, along with the sounds of the waves rolling in. Lake Superior calls people to come, whether she’s calm or all stirred up. You can see in Judy’s photos that this day the sun was shining, making it more beautiful than ever.

Then there’s Zelda. Judy said she went in three times on this day and was just so excited. She absolutely loves the lake and it doesn’t seem like the cold bothers her. You can see how much she loves the Big Lake in the video Judy recorded. I think she’s smiling! The other two “girls” were waiting on shore. They don’t have Zelda’s love for the cold water, I guess. Chilly water or not, Judy summed it up best by saying, “We are so blessed to live by this wonderful, magnificent lake.”

The ice and icicles say one thing, but the quality
of the sunlight says the spring to me.

Glad that Zelda likes the water; my dog would only
wade even in the summer.

Question for MS Judy... How do you keep the inside
of your vehicle clean and dry with wet dogs?

I love that 4th picture. Truth be told, I'll be
happy to see spring pictures and some color. Zelda
is very adventurous (and maybe a little crazy,
lol).

Nice set! It’s nice to see the snow melting. I’m amazed how Zelda

can tolerate the ice-cold water.

I guess in the summer we'll be seeing some pics of Zelda being a hot dog, but in that cold Superior H2O I guess she's just being a "chilly dog"!
