Another adventure Deb and Ron Simons went on is a visit to Sable Falls located about a mile west of Grand Marais on Alger County Road H-58. The National Park Service webpage describes these falls: “Sable Falls tumbles 75 feet over a cascading slope of Munising and Jacobsville sandstone formations on its way to Lake Superior. The best viewing is from the bottom of a long staircase of 168 steps. The trail from the parking area to this staircase is a short one. The trail continues past the falls for a short walk to a rock beach where Sable Creek flows into Lake Superior.”

What a beautiful falls! The sights and sounds on the video are almost as good as being there in person, without having to down and back up the 168 steps.

“What a beautiful falls. “ was my first thought as well. Nice job Deb

and Ron…and thank you!

Very beautiful. I need to add this falls to my list. I'm assuming the trail starts at the top of the falls? Well, I guess if Deb can get back up then so can I, LOL. I remember the long stair cases at the several falls on the Black River north of Bessemer. I made it down & UP those, but that was 5 years ago.

D.A., they provide benches at different
spots going up and down. It was about 5
years ago that we did the Black River Falls
also. I'm glad I went then because I could
not go now. They were so beautiful, as are
all of the U.P. Falls. I really loved this
one also. And yes, if I can make it, so can
you. This was worth the trip. We had done
Tahquamenon Falls the day before. Lots of
walking. But they were worth it also.

When this was posted i knew it was Deb and Mr. Deb! Beautiful pictures! It's been a lot of years since we were there and it's good to see it hasn't been ruined since they paved the road.

Hey UC, if you have wifi, did you see that Rick is coming back as NMU's interim AD?!! Woo hoo!

D.A., apparently, lol. We went to Agate and
Bond Falls also that summer.

Great set D.A.!! Had to laugh seeing the "Showdown on the Covered Road" because you had just mentioned that in a post a while back!

And we were at the Mouth of the Huron too.
It was a great summer.
