In case you haven’t noticed, Nancy Haun really gets around, she’s an explorer of sorts you might say. Today she’s taking us to the shores of Keweenaw Bay/Lake Superior with a look north and south from Point Abbaye, which is located northeast of L’Anse. Both shots beautiful in their own way.

Nancy had this to say about her photos here today:

Incredibly we were alone-the mountain views and the ever changing skies with the colors that would be difficult to duplicate were so memorable! A quick walk to the North side of Point Abbaye and the setting sun views made it difficult to decide which was the favorite! The North or South side!
Douglas Feltman shares a recent visit to Middle River Falls. The following is from his YouTube description: “The Falls River is fed through tributary creeks along Highway 41. This section of waterfalls is called the Middle Falls. It flows through the town of L`Anse before it finally ends up in the Keweenaw Bay right by downtown. There are many places you can park and hike to the waterfall. There is a park where the river flows into the bay.

The pictures are stunning and that video was
outstanding. We've been to those falls, but
apparently not far enough. Next time we will
go far enough and maybe even drop a line.

Hi
Both photos are striking. Hope you folks in the UP
are not as hot as we are downstate---I think we are
in the mid-90's, here in Jackson.

By the way, happy summer solstice.

Thanks Nancy! Beautiful area that isn't visited much and few get to see.

And Douglas' drone lets us see the falls so much better than just from the ground. A whole new perspective to enjoy.

Nancy,

Thank you for the great pictures.
I am wondering how the road is currently?
I was there a few years ago and it was pretty rough.
