E. Neil Harri was in flight over the Jacobsville area and captured some beautiful shots of the sandstone cliffs along Lake Superior’s shoreline out there. The cliffs are something to see by air, by boat, but especially in a kayak. Of course this time of year, a kayak ride along the cliffs would be quite chilly, so Neil taking us along is the only way to get a good view of them right now, with the ice clinging to those sandstone walls. Speaking of being chilly, I asked Neil about the temperature in his plane when flying in the cold weather. He said that it’s the same as in your car, except when he opens the window to shoot. Interesting trivia to know.

Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula wakes us UP to a crisp Keweenaw morning, asking, ‘Where would a crisp, bluebird day like this take you?’

Great pics, Neil. I especially like the
3rd & 4th ones when you zoom in on them.

Beautiful video.

Wow, wow, wow...what an incredible outing that's
gotta be!

Doesn't look it in the photos, but those cliffs are quite tall.

Speaking of the sandstone, I finally sent the first draft of my upcoming book on the geology of Michigan to the publisher a couple weeks ago. Now, let the back and forth begin..... ;-)

Capt. Paul...Cogratulations on your book submission draft. Publisher, can be a big help in getting a satisfactory product out..hear sometimesd they can be a bit frustrating/agravating! Peer reviews needed? Someday we would like a copy, no exspert, but very intersted in geology, especially the U.P. area.
