Bob Gilreath and friends were out on their side by sides in Ontonagon County to check out the colors recently. They crossed over the Firesteel River Bridges on the Bill Nichols trail, which is always pretty neat, as they are so high above the river in that area. You can see in Bob’s photos, that the color there was already past peak, with quite a bit of the leaves on the ground already. It always surprises me to see the difference in the leaves from county to county.

We get to take a ride on the Bill Nichols trail with Bob. Wish we had smell-o-vision so the scents of autumn would reach our senses, too.

For the record, we’ve passed the peak color season for the most part now, but through the beautiful photos of our many photographers, we can keep the Autumn season going for a bit longer here on the Pasty Cam.

Glad you mentioned the scents of Autumn, Mary. The musty smell of the fallen leaves always brings back warm memories. All you needed to make it complete was the warmth of a fire ring to tell stories around. The remaining color is a beautiful plus on the late Autumn tours.
