I have unofficially given Nancy Haun a new title, she is our “online tour guide”! She took us on a fall color tour last week and she’s doing it again today. We start this fall tour at the Bishop Baraga Shrine overlooking Keweenaw Bay. It’s a place that is near and dear to Nancy, where she puts her heart and soul into caretaking and promoting the Bishop and the Shrine. You can faintly see the fall colors across the Bay there, too.

Going UP the Silver River Hill is the next scene, with a stop to take in the colors that we’re leaving behind. I’m guessing Nancy spotted them in her rear-view mirror and stopped to snap a photo then. The third photo is at the Silver River, with a bit of fog hanging over the water and a plethora of orange hues surrounding the river.

Next two shots are of the Herman Hill. One driving down the hill and the other on the climb UP the hill. Both displaying all the beauty that Autumn brings us here UP North every year.

Our final stop is at the Sand Point Lighthouse, located on the west side of Keweenaw Bay at the Ojibwa Campground and Recreation Area. The colors are spectacular, with the blue of a choppy Keweenaw Bay, the green of the on shore trees and then the colorful leaves on the trees beyond.

We here at Pasty Central are so lucky to have folks like Nancy and all the other photographers that so generously share their talent with us and always so willingly. Thank you to one and all!

Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula rounds out today’s tour with a Keweenaw Peninsula Fall Adventure, with MI Playground.
