We’re back in the air with Jeff and Walter Dennis. They sure gave their new drone a workout last week. Today they take us touring a number of the Copper Country mines that have buildings or structures still standing from the copper boom here in the Keweenaw.

We visit Champion #4 mine in Painesdale, Quincy #2 on the Quincy Hill, Quincy #8, also on the Quincy Hill, but part of the former Mesnard and Franklin heritage there. Then we fly over Osceola #13 in Calumet and end the flights in Centennial Heights with a look at Centennial mine #6. Great views of the structures and surroundings that remain as part of our Grandparents and Parents hard work mining copper for a living.

Today again, the video is a bit longer, understandably so, in order to visit these sites for a good look around. So sit back, relax and let Walter be your tour guide!

Another well done video!

I believe you have the wrong photo for Quincy 8 (Mesnard). ;-)

What a wonderful viewing of the mines and the
surrounding area! I loved the music also. So
peaceful sounding. I can't wait to get back UP there.
Thank you so much for filming and sharing these sites.

Capt Paul is right. Quincy #8 only has a head
frame with no shaft house over it. That is another
shot of Osceola #13. Which is actually C&H #13 on
the Osceola Load.

Wondering why the Osceola #13 is so rusty compared
to all the others?
