Steve Brimm, of Steve Brimm Photography, sure knows his stuff when it comes to capturing vivid, close-ups. His Cedar Waxwing shots prove that without a doubt. I love how he captured the berry in the bird’s mouth and in the second and third shots you can see the Cedar Waxwing’s tongue. So neat! Someone posted on his photos, that they’ve seen these birds lined up in an apple tree, passing apple blossoms down the line. So, they like to party and share their treats.

We get to hear the chatter of a red squirrel in today’s video, also captured by Steve Brimm. His whole body and tail get into the action, too. (The squirrel’s, not Steve’s...ha, ha).

Steve nice pics and video, incredible shots! That
bird has to be a male.... and his female partner
is about to get all over him for swallowing the
whole berry in one gulp!! "Did you have to swallow
that in one gulp... really"?!! We need to see
that pic!! :=))

Nice pics by Steve. I always tell myself I'm going to try to capture good photos of the annual arrival of dozens of Cardinals to my Hawthorne tree. They really love the little red berries. I think it will be several more days. It doesn't last long and I always seem to miss getting the pictures.

Outstanding! I saw waxwings like this up in
Gay....fantastic. The squirrel is a tad
upset..that's why he's chattering like that and
whipping his tail! Steve musta been close! That's
fun too!

These are spectacular pictures. When I was a
kid I'd get so mad at them for eating the
cherries off of our trees. I definitely
didn'tappreciate the beauty of birds the way I
do now. Thanks for sharing.

For a great period, I grew up near Grand Rapids and an uncle had huge apple and cherry orchards. The only eating I remember was when my cousin and I would sit hit up in the sweet cherry tree just gorging on as many as we could find. Mother nature eventually inflicted her revenge long before we would be able to climb down to resolve the situation properly, so we found a way to lower our coveralls while still sitting in the tree. Too much information? I guess so, but we just kept on eating. I think maybe we even blamed the birds.
