Lest we forget... 19 years ago today, 9/11 and the tragedy that took place. We have a trio of photos from a trio of photographers, all beautiful evening/night scenes, all calm and peaceful, just what we need on a day like this.

We start with a shot from the Keweenaw’s North Shore, snapped by Brian Rendel. I love how he captured the glow of the setting sun, along with how it seemed to add highlights to everything in the scene. It sure is a beauty!

Marlene Beaudoin took the second photo, when she (and a friend) decided it was a lovely night for a walk across the Portage Lake Lift Bridge. Now I’ve ridden across the Bridge on my bike, I’ve marched across it ages ago, in my High School Band, but I cannot say that I have walked across at night. I think that may have to go on my “bucket list”, as I think the view up and down the canal at night might be something to see!

Our third photo comes to us from Tanya Etelamaki, who was at Pike Lake in Gwinn when she took this photo. Look how the moon glow is reflecting right at the end of the dock and lighting up the clouds, too. Sure looks like it was a beautiful night. You can almost hear the peace and quiet there. Nice capture!

Our own Charlie Hopper (General Manager here at Pasty Central) rounds out today’s photos with a video of the Fireplace crackling on a rainy day in Eagle River. Calm and tranquility...

Oh yeah...my pasty pix-fix! Charlie...where's the
hot dogs and marshmallows?

And Tanya...my deepest condolences.

When there's nothing on TV I put on the Lift Bridge MTU streaming cam.

Especially on Sunday nights. I fire up a good pizza and I feel like I'm at the Ambassador.

Yep, D.A. . . . or maybe enjoying a "book or two" at the Library, right?!

By D. A. (Midwested) on Saturday, September 12, 2020 - 08:09 pm:

The Library works too George, but the new placement of the MTU webcam looks remarkably similar to the Ambassador's back room picture window. If I were to be replaying the view from the Library I would be looking out the picture window of my third floor living room (I lived above the Library) except I am eating Ramen and hotdogs.
