There’s a saying that folks here in the Upper Peninsula say quite often and it goes like this... If you don’t like the weather, wait 5 minutes, it will change! That’s actually based on a quote from Mark Twain, only he was referring to the weather in New England.

Today’s photos from Mike Rudzki sort of illustrate the weather changes happening from day to day while he was visiting the Keweenaw a few weeks ago. I’m not sure who the brave model in the photos is, but I’m going to assume Mike’s daughter. I call her brave because just look at her hanging on to that tree in the first two photos. She could have gotten blown away or at the very least may have gotten sprayed by the wind whipping those waves around in front of her!

Then another day on their visit, the little lady was able to shed her jacket and don a swimsuit to enjoy the waves at Cat Harbor and then the calm waters of Eagle River. So yes, it looks like Mike and family waited and the weather was much more enjoyable. Looks like they had a nice time no matter the weather, actually.

We’re flying all over the Keweenaw in today’s video from Morton’s on the Move. Here’s a list of the places we’ll visit: Cliff Drive, Hungarian Falls, Horseshoe Harbor, Jacobs Falls, Jacobsville/Portage Entry Lighthouse, Torch Lake Dredge, Houghton, Hancock, Michigan Tech, Quincy Smelter, Quincy Hoist, Copper Harbor, Gay Stamp Sands, Redridge Steel Dam, Freda, Great Sand Bay, Portage Canal Entrance Breakers and Brockway Mountain. Buckle up and enjoy!

Democracy: --rule by the people--sounds like a fine thing; we should try it sometime in America.

Great pictures Mike! Back decades ago i think we could post very similar pictures of our family. Your trip brought back great memories! All those souvenir sweatshirts came in handy on those trips to the Keweenaw!
