Our resident boatnerd, Danielle Adams was on hand in Marquette a week ago today, when the last freighter pulled into Marquette Harbor for the season. She captured some great nighttime shots of the Kaye E. Barker, before the boat headed out for its winter port until the shipping season starts up again in March. I’m sure it’s a much needed break for the sailors that work these boats in both good and bad weather. I wonder how long it takes for them to stop rocking and rolling in their minds. It will be a long couple months for Danielle as she waits for the shipping season to start back up again.

The Facebook page, I Love Sault Ste. Marie, MI posted a video of the Burns Harbor, the last vessel to make it through the Soo Locks on Wednesday, before they closed at midnight. The video captures the freighter as it passes Rotary Park, upbound to Superior, WI for the winter lay up. Capt. Terry Heyns, gave a couple salutes as they passed by.

Hey UC...isn't your operation coming up soon???
I wish they had one for MS…we could share a room at the hospital and ogle the nurses.

A-- Moved back to early March, Doc wants me to get my average sugar's lower to minimize the risk of infection and other complications after surgery, so I'm working on that. This is doable since I'm not currently life threatening (actually I feel pretty good), so diet/exercise and better monitoring is a must, even more than I already am trying to do! I'm still out and about and getting into trouble, so if there is anything I can do for you, just hit me up!!

As far as a sharing a room and ogling the nurses.... I'm quite certain that U of M would never be the same with the two of us there!! lol Thanks for checking on me!!

Yes, UC, was thinking it was originally the 22nd, right? Glad to hear you're feeling pretty good!

Thank jbuck, yes it was originally the 22nd until my meeting on the 9th and now moved back. Just want to get it over with and start rehabbing.
