Winter has returned to the Copper Country once again. Stacey Flood ventured out Saturday, on the shores of Eagle Harbor before the snow machine fired up again to dump on us and found these tentacle like icicles hanging off the edges of the frozen shoreline. Stacey thought some of the ice formations looked a bit like jellyfish, and I’d have to agree with her on that one. Or maybe Stacey and I are both wishing for the shores further down south, where the temperatures are warmer and so is the water. Either way, the ice formations created by Lake Superior waves are ever-changing and beautiful each time you view them.

Speaking of ice...Keith Baker, the wheelsman on the Cason J. Callaway made a video a few days before Christmas, crushing their way up to Johnson's Point in the lower St. Mary's river, heading to the Soo locks. Make sure your speakers are on if you want to hear the sound of the ice that was on the river.

Nice pic's, the third one looks like a slip and fall into the drink if one is not careful! :=))

Cool video, doesn't look as if anyone is home in those cottages/homes along the river. Keith hold on to that phone when leaning over the side man! Thanks for taking us along.

UC, i was thinking the same thing about the person walking there!

And maybe a bunch of those places Keith was shooting were without power shortly after these pictures were taken! They are gradually getting everyone back on the grid, but it was been a challenge for all involved.
