Brenda Leigh was out for a walk the last day of November, along the eastern shoreline of Lake Superior, near Brimley. She said the last time she tried walking there, the shore was covered with large rocks and so many that you couldn’t go far. Seems they’ve gone back out into the Big Lake again. The ever-changing shores of Lake Superior.
Brenda also spotted some Mountain Ashberries along the shore, with ice still hanging on them, a product of the cold and waves. That’s OK, though, because the cold and ice preserves them longer for the birds to feast on for winter feeding.

Not too far from where Brenda was walking, Frances Czapski from the Whitefish Point Michigan Facebook page made a video from the Nor’easter on the eastern end of the U.P. the day before Thanksgiving. It’s a storm the U.P. will be talking about for some time.
