Laurie Bashaw and her husband Ed, recently took their visiting Grandson’s out to Little Presque Isle Recreation Area in the Marquette area. They wanted to do some hiking and wear off some of their young boy energy.
Laurie said they started their hike near Wetmore Landing where there is a trail all along Lake Superior and is part of the North Country Trail. She said the boys loved the adventure, but parts of it made her a little nervous when they were near a cliff, so they made sure to stay on the trail away from those steep spots and Grandma could breathe a sigh of relief, then. The boys found a number of places to explore, including the rocks that look like they just barely fit between them. Those are memories they’ll remember for years to come.

We’re all going to take a short hike through the Little Presque Isle forest, to the shore of Lake Superior in today’s video. Compliments of Jeff Burgess.

Great pic's and nice looking boys!!

In 1976 we drove a Jeep CJ5 across to little presq sitting on the back of the seats and a broom handle on the gas & clutch, no lie!! I'd like to see someone try that today! We also had a Toyota Land Cruiser join us!!

Mary says: Oh my goodness, Uncle Chuck...a video of that escapade would be a doozie! Wish you had cell phones back then. :-)

It might have been a CJ7, I don't remember but I do recall the play in the steering wheel was really bad, and I was glad it wasn't my vehicle for going back and fourth from Detroit....

I was driving Uncle Rudy's Caprice with a 400 V8 at the time. That's a story in it's self!! 92 MPH in a 55 MPH zone in West Branch, what a ticket!! Hey I was dating MS Vicki at the time and had to get home!! lol Oh the memories!!

I think I've seen these pictures of Facebook.
Sure seemed like a fun day.
