Over on the Cedar Bay – UP Michigan Facebook page, it’s beginning to look like Spring...finally! I found these Marsh Marigolds posted there and also the beautiful Trillium. We saw some Trilliums along US2 on our way back from a trip last week, so I was hoping they’d soon be blooming here in the Copper Country. Spring gardens are beginning, now if the weather would just warm up and stay a little warmer than it’s been for most of May.

Speaking of gardens, if you’ve ever visited Mackinac Island and enjoyed the flowers and shrubbery around the historic homes, then today’s video is right up your alley. It’s 20 minutes long, but well worth the time to view the gardens and learn a little about the homes on the West Bluff, too. You may even get some ideas for your own flower garden. I guess I have to ask: "What/where is "Cedar Bay"?
Clearly not connected in any way with "Sedar Bay".

From the map (Directions) on their Farcebook page, it appears to be at
≈ 498-400 3rd St, Calumet, MI 49913 (lat/Lon ≈ 47.264153, -88.443811).
That is approximately at the corner of 3rd St & Monroe in Centennial Heights.

Then there's this little jewel from the ABOUT link on that Farcebook page:

Quote:

When one finally arrives at the point where schedules are forgotten, and becomes immersed in ancient rhythms, one begins to lives [sic].

They're either trying to reaffirm some folks perception of Yoopers as illiterate country bumpkins, or it's just that …
English is a dying language!

FRNash,

I asked a similar question here some time ago as to how Sedar came into existence over Cedar. Cedar Bay I think is a designation of a small bay in Lake Superior extending from Black Creek Nature Sanctuary (near the mouth of the Gratiot River) all the way to McClain State Park, although some might say it ends at the Calumet Water Works. This potentially smaller portion of the bay is generally paralleled by Cedar Bay Road.

I believe that Sedar came into existence as nothing more than a vogue or cool way to differentiate ones address or association with Cedar Bay or Cedar Bay Road.

Or maybe it's a dual reference to the slang for a short girl?
