We’re still in the grip of winter here in the Keweenaw, with hopes of warmer temperatures later this week, but in the meantime, George C. Bailey has a suggestion for a romantic getaway on the shores of Lake Superior, with spectacular vistas included. Doesn’t a winter picnic sound like fun? If you’re dressed for the weather, I think it could be a wonderful adventure.

George’s second photo was snapped near Esrey Park on the shores of Lake Superior. Looks more like ice mountains, but with the warming temperatures and sunshine appearing more and more, those mountains will be molehills before you know it.

Today’s video adventure takes us to the Munising area, highlighting many of the outdoor activities that can keep you busy until spring finally arrives.

Looks like you will need something stronger than wine to keep you warm on this picnic. How about a gallon of WV Moon.

Lovely images and video! I totally agree with
Mary; If you're properly dressed, being outdoors
in winter is invigorating and comfortable. We're
lucky to have access to clothing that works such
miracles with temperature and moisture management.

The first pic is precious...Tahiti, UP style. Can't you just feel the sand between your toes whilst sipping on a Corona?
