Back in 2003, Andrew Bayley made a return trip to Mount Bohemia to check out what the ski hill had done since he had skied the mountain years before when he was a student at Michigan Tech. He said he was happy to see many of my runs through the horseshoe bowls still untouched (just barely ski-able) and he also mentioned that these runs were definitely not for the faint of heart.

We jump ahead to just a year ago and strangely enough, it looks a lot like it did on my road this past Sunday/Monday after the blizzard conditions. We had the same kind of weather a year ago too, as you can see the chest high snow drifts behind my hubby standing in the road for perspective. I hope this type of blizzard storm event isn’t going to continue happening each year around this time now.

ABC 10 UP tells us about Mount Bohemia being chosen as one of the Top 10 North American Ski Resorts, by USA Today. Speaks quite well of all the work that has been done to make it a contender with all the other resorts in the country.

I remember hiking around and all over Mt. Bohemia looking at the interesting geology up there long before it was a resort. Now, I understand they won't let anybody on the mountain in the summer, which is sad. Ahhhh, progress.....

Nice pic's and video. Capt. it was nice being able to explore Mt. Bohemia on your own and also climb the fire tower. Now in this day & age, fear of liability and law suits have taken over.

Oh Yeah, ... the Cat's beat the Huskies at MTU last night, tonight they play again in Marquette, go Cats!! Nice to finally see our Hockey team improving again!!

I love seeing Mount Bohemia getting recognized
like this! It is an absolutely remarkable place,
and skiing/riding there is a completely different
experience from anywhere I've ever been in the
Midwest or out west. You need to be totally heads-
up, razor-focused, and be reformulating your route
plan continuously when you're in the glades. Or
when you're in the mogul fields on the open runs,
where the bumps can get shoulder high. There's
nothing like the energy you experience up there!
