The archive photos today show the complete opposite of the weather during a U.P. winter. Aladino Mandoli snapped the first photo back in 2008, during a storm with gusty winds and blowing snow. You can barely see the light at the end of the Marquette Harbor break wall. This is a perfect example of winter speaking loud!

The quiet of winter was captured in 2009, by David Clark. He captured the second scene on the Kearsarge Trails, looking like you’re going to walk right up to that blue sky and clouds. You can almost here the winter quiet in this shot.

Our current photo was taken by George C. Bailey about a week ago. George captured this Lunar Halo and had this to say about it: “The skies were clearer, the moon was out and it was totally quiet between 10:30 and 11:00pm on the north shore of the Keweenaw Peninsula overlooking Lake Superior in Eagle Harbor Township.” A great example of the winter silence, for sure.

Pure Michigan supplies us with today’s video, made in 2018. It shows off “winter silence speaking loudly”.

Powerful pix and a sweet little video that I had time to watch...tax season is in high gear.

First pic is pretty cool, makes me want to go kayaking through that passage!! :=))

Made it through surgery this morning, in a walking boot now for several weeks, elevating the leg, wish I could watch some NMU Hockey but can't get it in Detroit area. 3 good hockey programs in the U.P., you'd think they mention it around here on the news at least..... no way! Makes me mad, at least I get to watch Tom Izzo this weekend.

Have a great weekend Pasty Pals!

Alex, don't forget to get away from your desk and take a few breaks now and then!! Vollwerth's sausage sticks and a cold bottle of water pal!

Do what the docs say UC and hope you beat the healing timeline and are out of that boot pronto.

Know what you mean about the hockey ~ all these sports networks and no NMU hockey on. And we have to root for Izzo!
