There is something calming about taking a ride and checking out the farming fields when they’re covered with snow. Maybe it’s just knowing that it’s a quieter time of year for the farmers, with no planting or baling hay taking place. Just their usual care of the animals they’re raising or milking and maintenance on their equipment.

We’re checking out some of those fields today, from the comfort of your home, starting out with a shot snapped by Dave Antikainen back in 2005. This farm is located on Fisherman's Road, which runs from Calumet Waterworks Road down to Lakeshore Drive. It’s definitely a beautiful scene.

The next photo was shared by Z-Man in 2007. One of the things I love about winter is how clean everything looks with the snow. In this shot the covering of white makes the barn stand out more, too, making the red paint job look so much brighter!

Beth Jukuri found several old farm buildings while out cross country skiing recently, that have seen better days. It still makes an interesting scene and gets you wondering what happened to the farm and the folks that lived there at one time.

We’re taking an aerial tour of the Ewen, MI area from last winter, 2018, with Randall Burk. Check it out.

Picturesque winter scenes!

I agree about the farm where you wonder where the
original family is and what happened that they
couldn't make a 'go' of it.

Is there enough snow for sledding UP there? Did the
CC get a lot of snow yesterday?

Jbuck... Yes there's enough snow for sledding. I don't know the exact number of inches, but we've had way over a foot this past week.
