Black Bear's latest MDEQ Part 31 discharge permit application request for their Mt. Bohemia drain field septic system is now available at the Keweenaw Liberty Library. Click on "What's New." Find the location of the drain field and Black Bear's dwindling estimate of wastewater volume. Check the health department's review of Black Bear's system for useful background information and hints about future development.

I apologize for any inconvenience caused by the recent unavailability of the library web site. My web site hoster, crosswinds.net, was an indirect casualty of the World Trade Center incident, which caused instabilities in Manhattan's power system, resulting in the loss of clients' web sites and backup files. Crosswinds.net is back up and I feel obliged to support them during this difficult time. I am still in the process of re-uploading the township financial records. One change I have instituted is to forgo re-uploading Black Bear's earlier attempts at permit applications and the older financial records of local governments.
