Donna MacIntosh starts out our archive review today, with a herd of escapee cows from back in 2008. She spotted these cows on the loose on US-41, so she stopped to snap a few photos and blew her horn to get them to move off the road. Another motorist stopped at the same time and was calling 911 to get help to find their owner and get them back home safely.

In 2014, we went snowshoeing with Eric Byykkonen over on the Swedetown trails. The trails are plainly marked so you won’t get lost and it’s a great way to enjoy the quiet of the snow covered woods at a little slower pace than skiing.

Next we have a photo from 2016, taken by Judy Byykkonen (yes, she’s Eric’s Mom) out in Traprock Valley at her former homestead there. We had a “Lake Effect Snow Event” which left everything in sight, covered in white. Sure makes for a picture postcard scene.

Today’s video is taking us for a short walk along the Bill Nichols Snowmobile Trail, over the Firesteel River, just past South Range.
