It’s a hodgepodge of subjects for the Pasty Cam today. We start out with a photo of the 826 foot Lee A. Tregurtha, snapped by Lee Rowe on a blustery November day in 2004. Not a very pleasant looking day to be out on Lake Superior.

Another snowy looking shot was taken by E. Neil Harri from above Bond Falls. This was the first snowfall of the 2007 winter season, looking much like the several snow events we’ve had already in October and just this past week again. It’s quite interesting to view the Falls area from a high altitude like this.

The day was brighter and the sky bluer back in 2011, when Mike Schneider took today’s third photo of the East Channel Lighthouse near the Pictured Rocks Lakeshore in Munising.

Our current photo for today, is from Brenda Leigh, taken on top of Sugar Loaf Mountain in Marquette. Brenda said there are two trails, in different directions to hike UP there. One is listed as Difficult and one is listed as easy. So you can take your pick to get there to enjoy that beautiful view! A nice video tour from mult-talented Steve Todey rounds out our Sugar Loaf visit.

We can't let this day pass, without remembering the 29 crew members of the S.S. Edmund Fitzgerald, who all went down with the ship 43 years ago today, near Whitefish Bay. Please take a moment sometime during this day, to pause and remember the men who lost their lives and their families, this fateful day in 1975.

Good morning! We were playing "The Wreck of the
Edmund Fitzgerald" this morning and I got to
thinking about pasty.com. For some reason, I
haven't been receiving e-mails every morning.
I've thought about this before, but it's never
been at a time when I could go in and find out
what the problem was. So I finally got the
opportunity to do it this morning and found
that, somehow, 2018 got unchecked. It's fixed
now and I hopefully start receiving e-mails
reminding me to get in here and check out the
pictures and find out what's been happening with
my pasty friends. Remembering the men who died
on that fateful day in 1975.

We missed you Deb! How is Mr. Deb's leg doing?

The 2011 picture is our background ~ great combo of a lighthouse & Autumn color.

Remembering the Fitz and the men who sailed on her. God rest their souls. Seems impossible it has been that long.

Nice video...thanks for the stroll.

Remembering the Fitzgerald and Ed Chaput.

Remembering the Fitz (and EddieFitz too). As jbuck commented, doesn't seem like it's possible that the ship sank 43 years ago.
My memory of the Fitz comes from being stationed at the Coast Guard base at the Soo on the last leg of my 4-year tour of duty, 1972-1973 and seeing that ship and crew sail upbound and downbound many times. May God bless that crew and their families.

Remembering the crew and their family and friends of the Edmund Fitzgerald. Crew member Bruce Hudson left on that voyage few days before the news he would be having a daughter born in the upcoming June.
