Joyce Tormala starts off the archive shots today, with a look back to 2010. She was out near Freda on the Covered Road to see what the colors were doing and oh my, she hit pay dirt there for sure. Even the leaves that had already fallen were decorating the sides of the narrow road there.

Then in 2011, Deb Simons made a trip out by Mount Calvary Cemetery outside of Lake Linden and check out the colors she found. So pretty that the trees are still decorating there, bringing color to the memories of our loved ones earthly resting places.

During Danielle Adams fall explorations in 2012, she spotted this doe, checking her out. She was quick on the draw and snapped a shot of her before it dashed off into the thicker woods for cover.

Our current shot for today comes from Judy Byykkonen. That’s her Scottish Terrier, Minerva (Minnie or Moochie for short), pining to be outside patrolling the yard. We’ve had a lot of rain this week and Judy said Minnie loves to be outside watching the neighborhood, growling when other dogs go by and the rain has had her in a tizzy because she has to look out through the patio doors and can’t get out there to keep the backyard safe from those passing by.

We get to check out a small herd of deer in today’s video feature. There’s not too much fall color, but you can see it was starting... it was actually filmed just a few weeks back. Enjoy the critter watching.

Minnie would make sure to keep any deer in her yard
in line!!

Beautiful picture in the grave yard Deb! The
cemeteries always seem to have a lot of beautiful
fall color. And you can't beat the Covered Road!

The desert Southwest is a unique area, as is our U.P., but a bit different!

"The canyon country does not always inspire love. To many it appears barren, hostile, repellent__a fearsome mostly water less land of rock and heat, sand dunes an quicksand, cactus, thorn-bush, scorpion, rattlesnake, and agoraphobic distances. To those who see our land in that manner, the best reply is, yes, you are right, it is dangerous and terrible place. Enter at your own risk. Carry water, Avoid the noonday sun. Try to ignore the vultures. Pray frequently."
