We start today’s archive look-back with an oldie from the beginning years of the Pasty Cam. During those early years, Jon Hopper, along with Charlie were the main two photographers. Jon snapped this panoramic shot of the Hancock hill with the Quincy Mine shaft on top, back in 2000. The colors were just starting at that time.

In 2007, though, the colors had burst out in brilliance and Rebecca Frederick was on hand to capture it up close. That’s some amazing coloring there, especially the leaf on the right, with the combination red and yellow. Simple beauty!

Cindy Freeman made a stop at the Bishop Baraga Statue in the fall of 2015 to snap our third archive shot of the day. It looks like the colors were just beginning to turn that year on Keweenaw Bay.

Our video feature was also made on a visit to the Bishop Baraga Shrine site, with some interesting flyover clips of the Statue, along with a bit of artistic editing methods added to the mix. Get ready to fly high over Keweenaw Bay.

I agree, Capt., although I don't have your connection, I remember cruising by on the Wing heading further UP.
The video was excellent, a technology that is giving us new visual perspectives.
