Kind of a day for reflecting here on the Pasty Cam. Not the mindful reflecting, but the water kind of reflections. Sue Haralson captured this perfectly mirrored scene from the walking trail behind the campground in Lake Linden back in 2002. It had to be pretty still for the water to not even have a tiny ripple in it. Peaceful, indeed.

Then in 2006, George Hoyem had a similarly peaceful scene, from the Portage Channel, heading out to Lake Superior. What a beautifully, well built barn, with sandstone and a surprisingly large number of windows for a barn. Sure were some lucky animals to have lived in this shelter with a view.

That brings us to 2016 and a photo from up on top of Brockway Mountain that Chris Beaudoin took. He was here getting his son settled at Michigan Tech, but came a few days early to have a few days of vacation, too. Chris called this shot a “kind of a before-entry inspiration shot of Greg up on Mount Brockway”. The sunset that evening was sure shining brightly on Lake Superior.

Mike Rudzki has a peaceful contribution that he snapped here a couple weeks ago. There’s just something calming about a bonfire on the shores of Lake Superior. This one was taken in Eagle Harbor there on the beach. Once that fire got crackling a bit more, I bet the marshmallows came out.

We get a taste of summer here in the U.P. in our video from Nick Pope. On his YouTube page he says: “I wanted to make a chill video about the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The shots I have are from St. Ignace, Michigan and Mackinac Island. Hope you enjoy it!”

Great pictures. I remember that barn from being out on Portage Lake boating from Houghton to Jacobsville. I always admired it when we'd go by. So pretty.

What can I say? Fantastic pix once again and the slow-mo, vide-yo is chill'n, man.
