Berries have been a common theme throughout the years on the Pasty Cam, but I’m not so sure about breakfast and Lego cakes. Check out our food theme today...we start with a plethora of blueberries, picked by Sharyn Tormanen back in 2005. That’s more than enough for munching, baking and freezing. I’m thinking a nice blueberry crumble, too.

Our next foodie photo comes from Jeff Kalember. He was hiking and camping along the Pictured Rocks trails with his son, in 2008 and this was one of their breakfast entrees. They didn’t take along the “dried food” packs but ate well for their adventure, with eggs and sausage to start their day on the trails.

Wrapping up the food theme, we have a fun birthday cake photo from Patty Rheault, at her grandson’s birthday party in 2013. He had a Lego theme party, with clever decorations and this cake topped it all off. Quite clever and colorful, too. Even his gifts were all Lego building sets. What a fun and memorable party.

For those of us that either can’t or just aren’t into roughing it hiking and camping, don’t fret, you can still enjoy a camping trip on the shores of Lake Superior, in the Porcupine Mountains. I have to admit, the hammock scene looks pretty comfortable, much better than sleeping on the ground. Enjoy!

Oh ya just gotta love those blueberries, particularly compared to the obscene price you have to pay for a pitiful half pint of blueberries (and free mold!) in the grocery store!

And memories of fighting the bears for those big buckets o' yummy blueberries back on da farm! <grin>

Back in the 50's, before Beaver Lake became part of Pictured Rocks Park, my family stayed at a resort on the lake and went blueberry picking on the thin strip of land between Beaver Lake and Lake Superior. One time mother bear decided to let us know that she didn't like us in her blueberry patch and my family ran one way and I the other. I remember having to do some wading and swimming in Beaver Lake in order to get back to my family and the boat. Lost my blueberries!

Gotta admit, I was a little freaked when I first started watching the video...like a Wako standoff situation, but then the more I watched, the more I like.

Nice pic's, the guy in the video appeared to be barefoot, all I could think about was the pain!! lol Being diabetic... I could never do that!! lol

Johnofmi, Sorry you lost your blueberries, but glad you're still around to tell the story!!

I'm with you, UC! Walking on those rocks would be an experience in pain. But the hammock, ahhhh!

Holy blueberries! We got about 1/2 of an ice
cream pail in about an hour. They are definitely
plentiful this year. Love the campfire breakfast.
Definitely one of the best part of camping. And
that video reminds me of the campground by the
mouth of the Huron River, except that beach is
totally gorgeous white sand. If I liked tenting,
that would be a spot that I would love to put one
up.
