If you’ve ever taken the time to look back into the Pasty Cam archives, you know the myriad of photos contained there, along with the many different subjects. Today we start off with a fun shot from 2005, of a face that John Lauzon carved in a tree to welcome folks to his U.P. home. Makes me smile every time I look at it.

Our second photo today was featured back in 2012, snapped by Aladino Mandoli at the Tahquamenon Country Dogsled Races, near Newberry. Dogsled races are so much fun to watch and Dino managed to capture the excitement in the dogs faces as they do what they do best... run the race!

Judy Byykkonen snapped the third photo, just last year in 2017. She captured this male Pine Grosbeak, feasting on apples that were left on the branches of her Weeping Crabapple tree. Looks like quite a feast for her feathered friends.

Our video today will give you a close-up look at a male Pine Grosbeak visiting a feeder during the winter months. They sure show up well against the white winter snow.

LOVE the tree!

The other day I had a couple of Pine Grosbeaks bounce off the back doors....after some heat and a short stay in a pet carrier...they both flew off! What a wonderful opportunity!!

This was the last one, ready to fly off!!

Nice pix, I believe 2005 was carved by a member of The Chip-a-ways.
Excellent video too, so clear and calm...very relaxing.

Alex, I was thinking an artistic woodpecker.

I like the Grosbeaks they are very pretty birds.
I'm not sure but I think the tree is the extremely rare smiling spruce.

The recent snow gives the tree a nice white beard.

Pretty Bird, Pretty Bird! That was a nice video, all fluffed up to stay warm. A few years ago I set up my video camera looking through the living room window while I went out with a handful of sunflower seeds and waited for the chickadees to come to my hand. It took about 10 or 12 minutes but they came. The first one landed on my pinkie and then others came and had lunch. I thought that was SO neat! I had seen it on the pastycam a few days before, so I thought I'd try it, too.
