In the past 19 years here on the Pasty Cam, we've taken flight with various folks. Back in 2001, Rick Anderson of Skypixs took Jon Hopper UP and over the town of Lake Linden for a bird's eye view of my hometown and the house I grew up in. I wish I had known they'd be flying over…I'd have made sure I was there wildly waving!

Another pilot we've flown with regularly in the archives is E. Neil Harri, who flew us over the town of Baraga in 2008. Neat to see familiar spots like this from the air.

The last photo isn't an aerial, but was such a unique photo of the Portage Lift Bridge, I just had to include it in the archive review today. It was snapped back in 2011, by Bob Gilreath and is a reflection in one of the Lakeshore Building windows. Looks more like a mirror than a window!

Our video today, takes us back to Baraga for a drone flyover by U.P. Graphics. I bet you didn't think you'd be flying around the U.P. today!

Nice set! I used to stay and park my Wing at the Baraga Lakeside Inn, which is just south of that peninsula in the video. Man, those were the days.

Very thankful we are allowed these times in the U.P., such a special place.

Wow, I loved the drone flyover; the shiny sparklies on the lake in particular!

Is the development on that narrow spit something new? (Definition, new: "sometime in the last 50 years".)

I guess I haven't paid much attention on several trips past there over the years since my one exciting return to "da Tech" from Christmas break. I was probably still too numb to notice during that short 1˝ mile drive from the park at that time; just seeing the road was enough of a challenge!

Love the aerial view of Lake Linden. Funny I
should mention the L'Anse/Baraga area yesterday
and today there's a video. Thanks to those who
commented on it. I'll try to go to as many places
as possible. WE both have bad knees so here's
hoping they hold up.

Thanks, Alex. We've been there and loved it.
It's a nice place to revisit!
