Here we are nine years ago back in the archives, watching one of the Lake Linden village crew, Chris Lajimodiere (now retired), clean the streets of Lake Linden. This machine sweeps all the winter grit and grime off the streets, making them cleaner and safer. It's a dirty job, but somebody has to do it…we're quite lucky here in Lake Linden, that we have a good crew keeping our streets clear and safe all year round.

The second photo appeared the same day in 2008, snapped outside the grocery store where these two young drivers were helping Mom maneuver through her grocery shopping and out to the car. I'm betting they were able to talk Mom into a few treats to take home with them, too.

People around the U.P. has been a recurring theme throughout the years and to round of today's "people" shots, we go back to 2007 on the shores of Lake Superior. Molly Kargela snapped this one, showing the amazing rocks that line the shores in the Keweenaw. Note the snow still hanging on…it won't be there much longer, with the sunshine beating down and warming those rocks.

Lake Superior's rocky shoreline is the subject for today's featured video by Kyle Loveland. This was filmed in Eagle Harbor and gives a bird's eye view of the same type of shoreline that the Kargela trio was sitting on back in 2007. It's something that always amazes me about Lake Superior, the diversity of its beaches, from beautiful beach sand, to small stones, including agates, to huge mountainous rocks, depending on which shore you're visiting. Just like her waters that range from wild to calm, she really is a Lake of many faces.

She really is a lake of many faces, Mary. It never
ceases to amaze me when we're driving through MN,
WI, and MI at how different the shorelines are. I
do believe that the best shorelines are in MI. So
much beauty surrounding one lake. Awesome! Loved
the video!

Love it...just the mini vacation that I needed today. I feel like I just immerged from a dream...but all in a days work.

Yes UC, but it will have to be Labatt's Blue "non-alcohol". (the MS makes me too unstable, as it). Tastes pretty good for n-a beer.
