Charlie at Pasty Central (Chopper) on Sunday, January 29, 2017 - 09:05 pm:

Over the years one of my favorite destinations for exploring visual history of the Copper Country is the MTU Archives. This weekend I happened across a couple of historic photos with the Tech Archives attribution showing 2017. On a hunch I went to the website and discovered it has been upgraded and expanded. Included here are a few photos, the top one you can see here in it's configuration on the MTU Archives website. To comment on any of the pictures, you create and account and log in. I noticed they apparently brought over the comments from the previous format, and they've expanded the notes, as well as adding many more new scans. Thanks to the folks in the Archives for their devotion to preserve this region's history.

Have a good week :o)

Wow ~ what a great effort! And cool that they kept the old comments! Thanks Charlie!

That is a great website. Thanks for sharing it. I really like historical pictures.

Great improvement to the archive website.

Off topic...
The time lapse of the marching snow drifts on the Portage Canal from last Friday was also pretty cool.

The MTU Archives is a wonderful mining history resource. Is the North Kearsage Mine in the photo the one across the street from The Hut and the Pasty Central kitchen?
